(this blog is a follow-up of sorts to this entry)
The title was meant as an attention-grabber, I love you all <3
Like I stated in that post, I've been accepted into the Canadian Forces under the Regular Officer Training Plan.
Basically this means that, as of July 1st, I'm a member of the Canadian Forces at the rank of Officer Cadet. The government will pay for the four years of education it will take me to attain my degree, after which I will be promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and enter the military workforce.
I have been intending to write this entry for a while, and I figured that it's about time considering I leave in two days. I'll be spending the first year at the Royal Military College St. Jean in Quebec, otherwise known as "le College Militaire Royal" or simply "the French version of the school Kennigit goes to". After the first year I transfer to the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario, where I'll finish my degree.
It goes without saying that I'm both intimidated and excited by the prospect of moving away; I'm sure you people who have been in college/university for a while are used to it, but I'm not quite there yet :p
One thing's for sure, my Teamliquid and Starcraft access will be a lot more limited for a while, I don't know how Kennigit manages it but I have a feeling it's something to do with him being in his third, and now fourth, year.
I've mentioned Kennigit a lot so far, so I think it's a bit appropriate to thank him for putting up with my nooby PM's asking about all sorts of RMC-related shit; Merci, please don't break my arms.

Anyways, from what I've heard, when I get there the first few weeks are basically planned out to seem as close to hell on earth as they can get it. Imagine having to watch DarkElf vs Justin in a TvT bo9; it's supposed to be worse than that! Jesus.
It should be alright though, this is one of those things I've sworn to give my 100%; my goal is to get into the Pilot occupation, and I'm going all-out to get there.
Basically what happened was they told me I'd been accepted as Pilot (or at least, in the Air Operations grouping, which, long story short, means Pilot), but when I signed the paperwork they told me there was a clerical error and that my trade was changed to Air Engineer. I've heard it's possible to change trades, and I'm going to pester them about it until they either:
a)Change me to Pilot.
b)Use me as bayonet practice.
So yeah, I'm gone on Saturday! Wish me luck!
