If you're like me, and you should be so lucky 8), you have probably said this thought to yourself a couple of times in the last year or so:

"When SCII comes out I'm hella going to be on that S**t!"

And then you come back here and read the forums, possibly making a few witty comments and getting a few of your threads closed. (BTW admins I'm always away from my computer when you close my threads. Would you be willing to leave a post of why they suck, other then the obvious reasons)
Anyways after you rock the forums for awhile you probably head over to youtube, or if your internet is really really fast maybe you torrent some Proleague. And then you go about your business. Problem is there's somthign missing from that list. Playing Starcraft.
I have convinced myself that I will play Starcraft II because it covers up the fact in my head that I have not won a game on ICCup. And that number that keeps going down, its the most demoralizing thing in the world. That number is the one thing that really keeps me from playing, aside from the fact that losing five games in a row makes me feel like crap.
The last game on ICCup I played was a TvP in which I got rever dropped so bad that my hand locked up and i couldn't click on things. What really sucks for me about playing all these games is that I can't make up my mind how I want to play Starcraft. Whenever I watch Boxer play and I see things like that game against Oden I think where he went Nukes, and I think, "Micromanagement is the greatest thing in the world." And that's how I play I guess. The only problem is is that it doesn't work. And it crushes my dreams.
But I guess there is some hope for my game. Watching Idra play in those TSL replays and on those broadcast games from Korea is so incredibly inspiring. The fact that he went to Korea to play and followed his dream; I know it's a strange thing to idolize but that whole thing seems pretty cool to me.
This was a strange write up to make but I guess I just needed to tell someone about this. I think I will try again at this ladder thing. I know that all of my posts on this blog are about me aspiring to be good at this game. And I know that my topic lines are a little misleading. I've been out of high school for six weeks and already I can't write a coherent essay 8). So I guess I want to say sorry if you feel like I wasted your time if you read this. But I want to say this: if there's an off chance that you are like me and maybe have been thinking that you'll wait until Starcraft II to hit it hard, start now. I think everyone has said to themselves when they were in school that when summer rolled around they were going get faster at running or do some situps or get a job. Maybe some life skills can be developed from this or something. Today is the day that I swear off those 3v3 Hunters games with the Koreans on US WEST (why are there no people on the Asia server?) I invite all you Forum trolls to come with me.

Thanks,
-Clark

You do not have to play soccer in order to watch it.
Not everyone is a professional athlete.

This. There is a great amount of joy to be had in watching proleague. I find attempting to play the game as well and try to improve helps increase how much joy I can get out of it, but it isn't like you are failing as a human being if you watch SC and don't play it.

That said, when SC2 comes out I am REALLY gonna rock it

You shouldn't feel that bad. I think everyone loses their first 10-20 iccup games (I did :D), but you just get better with practice.

That said, when SC2 comes out the first thing I'm doing is going on battle.net 2 and then making a game titled, "BOXER, COME ON IN!" :3

Yeah, Iccup is pretty brutal for a newbie, including an 100 game player who learned on East.
