Nope. The only exception is cell phones emit a slight amount of radiation, but because it is closer to the brain it is amplified compared to a computer monitor. But this small amount of radiation is trivial. | ||

I did not read the israeli study, but the most important one on the subject is http://jnci.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/98/23/1707. It shows no increased risks. This may be not the last word on the matter so it is certainly not a bad idea protect children from heavy mobile phone usage. | ||

I also think it is wise to minimize use of computers and other electronics. I realize this position seems absurd to the average person. We have been conditioned to take a life full of high technology as not only normal, but good; a sign of progress. It is hard to reject an entire world-view that one has become accustomed to over many years. So my personal recommendation is to gradually get used to using less technology; phase it out bit by bit. But that's up to everyone to decide on their own. Kudos to the original poster for giving up their phone. I haven't even gone that far yet, but I do keep my cell phone off most of the time, and use it maybe once a week. I read one doctor recommending that a cell phone be used no more than 5 minutes PER YEAR. | ||
