while everyone has been focusing on Tushins [amazing] play recently, I think people have overlooked somewhat, that Rock looked decent in this match. Thats TWO games in a row against zerg where rock looked like he had a clue about what he was doing. hmm
Can you dig it?

It seems the difference between july's mutas and other pros is that he isn't afraid to take hits. He knows precisely how tough his clump is and can be hyper agressive as a result. I think most modern players would have seen those goons and corsairs and flew around a bit to see if they could find a less protected area. July, however, focuses on the sairs until rock is forced to pull them back, and then picks off a few goons. The difference is not in technique or precision, it's in guts.

I agree with Pisan. Hes used mutas for so long, that he knows not only how to use them in the mechanical sense, but he knows how to use them in tandem with his play style. Its the style he uses, an imaginative and aggressive flare with his mutas- that can only come from not only a brilliant player, but someone who knows the mutas damn well perfectly. In terms of simple harrass he may not even be the best [any more] but he can do things that are just simply...spectacular.
Can you dig it?

jaedong, lux.. their micro is garbage? i dont know what the hell you're trying to pull here. i'd like to name games where lux, jaedong dominated their opponents with mutalisk alone, but i can't.

welcome to starcraft 2008. watch any jaedong game on blue storm.

Jaedong vs. Ruby in PL a while back. -.-

I mentioned the same thing to my brother yesterday and he said that it was normal. After watching July pwn Rock with mutas for a bit he said it was pretty good muta micro/harass.

Since when did Shark make muta micro?

Hm, too much fanboyism here.

Shark is the one who revolutionized mutalisk control. So, July is not even the "Original." And even if he were the original, that does not mean he is the best.

Look at Shark, the real original of mutalisk control. His control has been used and improved by July, Jaedong, and the Park brothers. The "original" is definitely not the best.

July is good, no doubt. But players like the Park brothers and Jaedong do not "seem like trash" compared to July. They are probably better than July.

I think he's realized he can't carrier rush a zerg.

ya July's mutas are still incredible as hell

other players have picked it up greatly but July's still seem to impress me the most

p.s. poor rock TT

It's like every time July goes up against Rock something humiliating on Rock's part happens

For some reason I just thought of Rock as a little kid offering July, a humongous ogre, an ice cream and then July decides to eat him instead ~_~

Shark discovered a useful trick. July was, however, winning starleagues with his muta control before shark made his discovery.
That wasn't any act of God. That was an act of pure human fuckery.

Capo and LR are correct

Yellow's muta harass was the first effective harass, July brought an improved technique

As of this moment the muta micro heirarchy is luxury july jaedong, in that order

If Lux manages fluke Flash out of this OSL, I could easily see July crushing through everyone and taking the golden mouse. We've already seen July trash Luxury once in ZvZ.
