im attending rutgers engineering
for AP bio, i don't think i did too well for the year. i think i stand at a C- for the year but I might get a D depending on what happens
My other grades are okay though I think, 1 C , 1 B and 4 A's. i didn't slack off! bio was just too hard for me and i realized it's not the subject for me. the other grades do show it in a way that i wasn't suffering seriously from senioritis.
worst case scenario: if i do get a D for the year, will i most likely get academic probation, or rescinded at worst? if it was another AP class, i wouldn't be worried, but biology does relate to engineering in a way, depending on the major. however, i already planned i want to do industrial engineering, but we can't declare a major until after first year ends. that's why :/ will doing poorly in biology take a serious impact?

what do you mean? like try hard to fail a class or get a lot of D's/C's?
or get suspended/arrested?
I am just worried because since we can't choose our major first year and I fucked up on bio pretty much, that might affect my acceptance. Not to mention FUCK bio since i'm set on industrial engineering 2nd year

getting a D in a known hard class is not going to do anything to you. im doing engineering too! i have a 3.0,,, who cares gl

sorry but a D is bad news. if rutgers was a UC i think you would get your admission rescinded automatically. the As and B are obviously fine but the C doesn't help your case at all.

Well, I basically stopped doing work after I got accepted into college. Of course, I go to Ohio State so it's not like it's hard to get into, but many colleges are not ruthless about that sort of thing. I don't know anyone personally who got accepted and then had their admission subsequently rescinded.

Well all I can tell you is how it works at OSU. To get accepted into a particular field of engineering, they look at your overall GPA as well as your GPA in the calculus series, physics, and chemistry, depending upon which engineering field you're entering.
So you have your freshman year to get those grades. Providing you get accepted into the school, and I highly doubt you will have your application rescinded, if you prove during your first year you are a hard worker (by having a good GPA in technical classes / not slacking off in general classes) then I can only assume you'll get accepted into engineering.
Edit: Also, what about the test? If you did well on that I'd say you're absolutely fine. But anyway, most first year college courses are waaayyyy easier than AP classes (or at least IB classes, which is what I took), so you'll be prepared for it if you worked hard and challenged yourself in high school.
Again, I'm not sure about your school, but provided you get accepted, just do well in all your pre-major stuff.

Not terribly surprised... I never really took AP bio (not a biologist) or AP chemistry (not available), but virtually all of my AP classes were harder than entry level college courses (except the science ones).
