Right now I am in College with a focus on History. I love History and want see the world and all that. But I am wondering if I should pause this acadmeic pursuit to perhaps try and earn a HVAC in Plumbing. There is some money in that field, a lot it seems. But the apprenticeships last 4-5 years, before I could actually earn profit for myself.

And I don't think it's possible to go to two colleges at once for two different fields.

What will you do with your history degree? Why plumbing specifically?

I want to try and branch that off into Archeology. Plumbing is the highest paid construction job. When my water heater was being replaced I asked the two guys how much they were getting paid they said around $800 each, now imagine four water heaters a day. Kaching!

No idea. Never tried it, don't even know a Plumber except a drunk who I occasionally talked to when I worked at a Bowling Alley. And the only Plumbers I've seen are Flip this House, and Ghost Hunters on Television.

So you can eat, it's really not that simple. Yes you should really try to do what you love, but there should be reason within that thought. Don't try to become a famous singer if you everyone you talk to tells you, you can't sing ect.

My neighbor works as a plummer and I live in a pretty expensive neighborhood his the only that actually works and his house is really nicely decorated inside (only been in their once), so plummers probably do make pretty good money. Do what you love, this is something that you are going to figure out so gl.

EDIT: I reread what I quoted about three times and I don't think it makes sense, but I think you mean, "find a job that you like that way you don't have to work a day in your life" or something along those lines.

all i know is that if your passion can't get you food on your table you become miserable anyway. you can always keep studying history on your own like a hobby or something. i love the guitar and i'm usually spending more hours every day playing it than studying medicine that i'm supposed to (still never neglecting studies to the point of no return). i think it's a good balance, 'cause i'm keeping my interests alive while preparing for an easier way out in life (for the money making aspect of it anyway)
