Hi guys, I need your help.
Ok, story first:
Recently I've become very interested in getting all aspects of my life handled, I started to read studies about happy/successfull/fullfilled people, what it takes to be happy and so on.
After discovering that confidence is one of the primary conditions in order to be happy, I harvested a whole lot of material from internet on how to build confidence. Some were good, systematic, scientific; some were bad, unorganized, more like a friend giving shit advice.
With time, I dugg more and more, I stumbled upon David DeAngelo's ebook called "Double Your Dating". An interesting book, but not the real thing, in my opinion it was too one dimensional. That book however, was the step before the final step. It made me discover another project by David DeAngelo. It was a work he's done in cooperation with Dr. Paul Dobransky, M.D. called "Deep Inner Game".
This guy Dr. Paul basically takes all he knows about psychology, summarizes it down to simple diagrams for easier understanding, and basically gives you tools to fix just about any problem in your life. His 'recipes' are universal, it helps you with your dealings with women, other men, your boss. It shows simple ways of overcoming anger and anxiety. It helps you get to know your strenghts and weaknesses and find the type of woman that'll complement you ideally. I am really impressed by his work, and I ain't an average chump.(im gifted in math, physics, programming, play poker for cash(altho stil low limits), and play SC obviously ^^)
Anyway, so you're wondering by now, what is it that I need your help with, right? We'll get there soon.
After watching 7 DVDs of Deep Inner Game, I was impressed. And this guy, Dr. Paul was only a guest in DeAngelo's program, so I wondered "What else does this guy have?". I signed up for his forum, subscribed for his newsletter, and I realized, this guy really knows his thing. I looked at what products he has to offer and I found this amazing 11 DVD set, called "MindOS" the operating system of your mind. "I WANT THAT" I thought to myself, only to realize that the price is a whooping $597. There's no way I, living in Croatia, can afford this kind of thing, especially since I won't earn my own bread for like 3-4 years.
However, the way people talked about him and admired him gave me the impression that he's the type of guy who won't hesitate to help a man in need. So, I send him an email, asking if he would be kind enough to let me use his knowledge for free, as a gift. Doesn't hurt to ask, I say to myself as I close my gmail.
Soon, he answeres:
If you have ten other men sign up for the free forum and newsletter with their own approval, we'll send you the dvds for the cost of producing them and postage, which is about 90$US.
Write [the email] and me with a list of your signups.

Btw. that Deep Inner Game thing, I didn't buy it ................. you know what I mean.
(It's not a standalone product by Dr. Paul so I don't care.)

yeah I've gone through the Deep inner game and it's actually pretty good stuff and not much about women
Dr Paul (psychiatrist) is just so friggin boring to watch and listen to on DVD it's insane. Other than that the stuff he talks about is pretty good but also very basic if you have studied some psychology before
His MindOS is in no way revolutionary, it's the same old thing everyone teaches but in his own way
But like I said, I won't torment myself watching Dr Paul anymore, he is so slooooow

This guy is squeezing as much money as he thinks he can from you, and getting you to do random advertising. There's no way it costs more than $30 dollars to produce that, and I would guess it's closer to $15. 20 cents a CD + the box, plastic, and covers. I mean, a TV series in my country costs even less, retail, and the shipping on that is not going to be busting anyone's balls.
Just take a psych course in school, or buy a psych text book, or browse the internet for online psych material. Read random studies. Anyone who tells you they can give you the solution to every problem you have, and could ever have, using psychology is a gigantic hack.
That said, if it makes you happy anyway, go for it. Just know your paying for his lecture, not the information.

Whoa chill man. That genious thing was obviously me being slightly ironic to respond to a shitty post. Second, even if I was a genius, that doesn't imply I have perfect english grammar inborn.
Also, those 90$ are production + shipping from USA to Croatia(Europe). I don't think it's _that_ much when you look at it that way. Plus, I'm tired of constantly being worried about something. It's me who's giving the money, plus I've seen the guy's material and I'm willingly doing this. Thanks for the advice tho, i appreciate it.
I understand I'm doing him a service by advertising, but that's a part of the deal - he lowers the price, I do something in return.

Actually I've heard of this David DeAngelo and this Dr.Paul guy alot the passed couple of years. I believe they are also mentioned in The Game by Neil Strauss. Matter of fact there is a couple of chapters in that book including David DeAngelo. Hrmm atm I cannot spare $90 bucks so it will be hard for me to sign-up. Otherwise I would certainly jump in on it.

Oh btw what exactly are you worried about? How about going to a doctor and asking for some type of benzo(xanax/valium). That will surely fix that problem.

i agree there isn't a magic solution. But I'm pretty sure there are good and bad ways of approaching problems. There are also ways of improving yourself in all possible ways so that you put up the best possible fight to those problems.
