So! last time I put up an FPVod commentary I got a very mixed reaction. Some people got the humor involved in posting a FPVod vs a comp and the rest either hated it or did their best to ignore it. True to my promise in my last upload, this time I'm playing a human opponent. Unfortunately, I won. I don't expect that to continue, however, so expect some uploads of horrific losses in the future. I can't predict how often I'll do them (probably only when I've been drinking, as I'm doing tonight)
Also, I don't check the record of my opponents until after I play them so there's a good chance I'll be raped by smurfs, reset accounts and legitimate D-ranked players fairly often. In the meantime, enjoy my noob FPVod commentary!
Maybe I'm cheapening the FPVod community doing this, but I have no shame, and it's fun to toy with the tools. Plus I'm only sharing this on my blog, so it's not like it has to be great.
To the person that asked what programs I used the last time I uploaded: I use Guncam for recording the vod, then I export the .gcf as an .avi, then I open the .avi in windows movie maker and go to tools>narrate timeline and comment the FPVod while watching it using my mic. Then, I save the file. Finally, if necessary, I split the file using asfbinmaster and upload it (them) on youtube. Credit goes out to Diggity for explaining the process to all of TL.net. I wonder where he went.... I loved his commentaries. Anywho...
PS. if anyone has a tip on how to up the volume on the vocals, please tell me. My mic pickup volume is maxed while I'm recording... is there anything else I can do?
You talk quiet fluently but the tone in your voice is a little bit stale. Overall pretty good though ^_^! You should do one on a longer game next time though so you can show us how much you know about starcraft
lol. I know NOTHING! I figure my FPVods will be entertaining because they're pathetic... that's why I'm doing them, anyway. I'm realistic, I know I suck, but I'm having fun, and if I give someone a little entertainment, then I'm happy. Whether you're a better player than me and you think it's funny to watch suck, or you're a player around my level and you wanna see the weaknesses in D-ranked players' games, I HOPE I'm performing some kind of service.
And if not, hell, at least I'm spending my time attempting useful contribution.
Nice job As for increasing the audio volume, some recording programs have a feature that lets you change the volume after you've recorded. I've used Audacity for audio recording and always had to bump the volume up after recording.
I don't know how windows movie maker works but if it doesn't have this option you can probably export the sound track as a separate file and edit it with Audacity (Effect->Amplify). Whatever you do please make sure you're not clipping the audio.
