So...since MSU is being really gay (see last blog for in depth rant) and they waitlisted me for another month for the fall semester but did indeed accept me for the spring semester, I have to decide what to do in the fall. I will wait a month and see if I get in, but I have a housing deposit at Grand Valley State University(a d2 school in michigan, nice campus and they are very good at everything that is division 2, lots of people from my town go there) that I will lose on friday if I don't cancel it. So the choice is do I go to Grand Valley for a semester, or do I commute to University of Michigan - Dearborn campus (not ann arbor) for the fall semester? UM is obviously the better school academics wise, but I would have to commute(saves a few thousand $ though) :/. GVSU is really nice and i'd get to live on campus but then i'd have to switch campuses mid way through the year.

Thoughts? Questions? Comments? ADVICE?

I didnt know you could enroll at one school then enroll at another next semester? Its weird they accepted you into the spring but not the fall (gay but they know there will be a certain number of drop outs so slots will open up). You could always just work or something the 1st semester and not go to any college until the spring. It would set you back but take a few summer classes throughout your college career and you can get caught up unless you change majors.

I'd go to GVSU since it's just one semester. Just make sure that your credits transfer over fully to MSU.

Honestly, if I were starting out again I'd go 2 years in Community College and then transfer to UM. I'm not sure if your local CC does it, but I know WCC has a program set up with UM for that.

Or i could go to UM Dearborn and switch campuses to UM ann arbor after a semester or two. But the entire point of me going to state is that i can enjoy myself and get a 3.7+ gpa so i can get into a good law school instead of going to UM ann arbor and killing myself to get a 3.0 and not getting into a good law school.

You can pull a 3.7 at UM and enjoy yourself as well though, depends on your major though as I know plenty of people here who kill themselves in studying for a 3.0 or 3.5 in classes. Same for UM all depends on your major.
