Deciding to start blogging my TSL experience!
A little about me to begin with, I play on variants of the name rANDY, normally rANDY_uK when not in a clan, like now, or more recently, TSL-rANDY
Upon the revealing of TSL I was very excited about the tournament, the only other times I have felt as excited about gaming is when WCG is on. I wanted to get stuck in right away, but my pc was broken, as it had been for 5 weeks(!!!). Eventually I was able to start on the 3rd, feeling slightly deflated that the like of Idra, Nony, Xiaozi had already reached B-/B, when TSL was anounced the thing I was most excited about was the chance to play the likes of these players whilst they were still at D.
I started and boy does 5 weeks of no gaming take its toll, as I started out 4-0, but then lost 9 in 10, and ended the day at 13-10, just reaching D+.
I decided to try and gain one rank per day unitl I reach C/C+, where I expect to stagnate into mediocrity. So on the second day things were coming back to me and I ended the day just shy of C-, finding PvT on blue storm a real problem with the pathfinding and also trying to attack arcoss the middle in games that last for 20 minutes++, I was also surprised that every single pvz on blue storm, the zerg goes either 9 pool or overpool speedlings, anyone know the reasoning behind this? I don't know enough about zerg to figure it out.
Anyway today I started my third day with the aim of hitting C, I got to C- after a couple of games, then went on an 8 game streak, gaining a lot of confidence in my play. Then won a few, lost a few, and with my last game of the night scraped into the C rank.
Currently ranked about #140 in the list my hopes of sneaking into the top 48 are quite realistic - no chance. However its nice to dream so I wont give up! Also submitted a replay to mani's competition which was an enjoyable 35 minute PvP on longinus, which I lost but had great fun playing anyway.
On another note I find it quite surprising how often, as a player is about to type out, he tells you how much you suck or how lucky you got
Good luck to all you other hopeful TSLers!

I 9pool because the distance is so close that probes can delay my hatchery easily.

The rush distance is really short on blue storm so not 9 pooling is just asking to be zealot rushed if you ask me (only a D zerg). I personally 9 pool speed against toss almost every time these days. Good luck on getting that top 48

I 9pool because it makes it so easy to delay scout probes until the corsair comes out, with one or two at the tiny choke and the rest near his mineral only.

In the name of Aiur, stop spreading these blasphemous lies.
TO ALL ZERGS the best way to block scouting probes is to leave them in a dark corner somewhere, obv.

I used to play zerg until TSL started, and I always overpool on blue storm - it pressures and forces the toss to make forge + 2 cannons instead of going for the nexus right away, and it slows down his tech significantly without me sacrificing my own expo timing too much.
I usually save up 3 larva and then make 3 drones instead of zerglings and piss the toss off.. while that's happening, i take my nat/3rd for the inevitable crazy battle in the middle after the sairs start flying. Well it's all different now that I play toss but you know it's always good to know the enemy (it helps me a lot when i play PvZ b/c i have a hard time with ZvP)

I think I got lucky with my reavers lately, especially in some really close PvP's. D+ here too.

Andeh! Shouldn't you be too busy with uni work and partying to play in this. But I suppose BW is more fun than parties and more important than life anyway. Good luck and watch out, because I'll be cheesing your randyface next time we meet. (I'm not playing TSL btw, is kish going to get serious about it?)
