I'm fairly new here, so I thought I'd share some of my Starcraft experiences.
I have been playing Starcraft seriously for a while now, so when season 7 of iCCup started, I decided to give it a try, under the name of iD)Faiyth_. This was back in March Break, then.
I've been playing Protoss forever, and I was used to dominating over my school friends, who found it really tiring to play with me. But they weren't like me, since I always had the mentality that I wanted to get better, while they just wanted to play for fun. So I figured I'd switch races to Terran, so that they can have an easier time, while I learn a new race. At the same time, iCCup started. So I decided to try Terran on iCCup.
On my first day, I ended with an 0-8 record. Somehow, it didn't discourage me as much as I might have thought it would. Eventually, I climbed my way to 16-23.
Then, everything changed. TSL came along, the biggest event in Broodwar since.. forever. It inspired me to keep playing, and now I'm 10-14 under the name of 2hu. I also tried to play in the weekend tournament, and got my ass handed to me. Still..
Thanks Teamliquid, for this insanely successful event. You've rejuvenated the Starcraft community.
You've allowed me to improve tremendously, and even though I'm still losing the majority of my games, I feel like I'm getting there.
For now, my goal is to get into top 500 of TSL. Not sure if I can, though. And I must resist the urge to switch back to Protoss ><.
