I think accounts are alot harder to sell with the arena system, compared to before. Basically only an epic mount will give you a slight edge over the hundreds of other accounts for sale. If you sell your account for enough money to break even with your past subscription fees you will have done well. ![]()

If I had more money, I'd definitely make a serious offer, but at the moment, I can't offer much at all. ![]()

I've sold several characters for over $1k (1,800 being the highest), but it was a character with perfect PvP gear and nearly perfect PvE gear (before most people had it), along with a ton of gold and all the trimmings. PvP characters usually don't get very much though. The titles/mounts are easy to get and anyone can get a full set, so you really need great PvE gear to get a good average offer (it's always possible to find an idiot who will overpay.) mmobay is what I used. As for "making money" selling WoW characters, you might have only paid $300-400 in subscription fees, but when you check your /played, you'll find you're making like 50 cents per hour. ![]()

I haven't touched this account since July. At the time of quitting this was the best geared pve mage on the server. Money isn't an issue, more just getting rid of it since the expansion is coming and if I keep it I'll most likely get sucked back into playing again.

I've got a 70 warlock with a normal flying mount and a 65 rogue, both very poorly geared cause I haven't played in about a year. How much do you think I could fetch for it? Where are the best spots to advertise? Will just grinding my rogue out to 70 increase the value pretty dramatically? Grind it to 70, get a 2nd account move it. Sell it as 2 accounts instead of one you'll get more for it.

And you could probably sell your account for more than that, even to IGE, or something. :p If you think about it, you're paying for a copy of world of warcraft and the burning crusade, you're also paying for all the gold he has, and for his time. I just checked IGE for his faction and server. 2,500.00 gold sells for about $175.00 (192 AUD) Not to mention how much gold he has spent on his talents and mounts. Lets just say $300 (AUD) worth, just as a start Just checked EBGames, to buy wow and tbc would cost $70.00 (AUD) $15 for first months subscription. You're looking at $277.00 (Aud) just to get started, and then it takes anywhere between 190 to 300 hours to level that thing to 70 depending on the class/server/faction. Even if you were getting paid $1/hour to level, it still makes it very expensive. I'm against buying toons if you play wow, half the fun of the game is leveling, but I'm just saying, if you are thinking of buying, its crazy and I'd never do it, but the price is justified.
