[H]Electric Street in Japan?

So I was off in imagination land when waiting in the dentist office, and was remembering a past episode of what I think was X-Play on G4. And remembered the term(or actual name of the area) in Japan called "Electric Street" where people could buy the latest games and consoles as well as past games and systems such as N64 and SNES, and Sega. And was wondering if this was true?

I googled the name and only found one site with Pics, but have no idea if this is just a busy street/marketplace.

It's "electric town" and the area is Den Den Town in Osaka in Nipponbashi. It's not so much video game stores as just ANYTHING nerd related. That means audio, camera, computer, anime and pretty much anything you can think of. There's a few huge megachains there like Yodobashi and Sofmap but also a lot of small private stores, which is probably where you'd find old video games.

They really do sell everything from kitchen lights and washing machines to the latest ultra compact laptops and even hentai. D: The place is completely orgasmic if you're a camera freak or audiophile. They've got racks and racks of headphones that you can try on and listen (imagine actually getting to try out every model of Sennheiser before buying one) and a couple places still carry vacuum tube amps and REALLY nice speakers.

i actually went there last summer. its a pretty good place to go to soak up almost everything electronic, gaming, and anime in tokyo.

they have a lot of people doing advertising by megafones and anime characters. so its pretty cool. the day i went they had 3-4 japanese porn models posing for the cameras, tourists, locals.

and to OP, heres a pic i took just from the main street chuo-dori. u can see that they still LOVE LOVE SEGA. sega is everywhere! also, the mega store has a bunch of restaurants at the top level.
