Do you and any of the other EG folk pay attention to Day9's shenanigans stuff at all? Ever try for Funday Monday or anything like that? I suppose considering you need to focus on self-improvement and such most of the time you are playing it may not come up too much since everyone is working so hard but just a thought. | ||

I'm a ≈1700 diamond protoss, and I often feel like I'm playing against retards when I'm playing against teams even, 30 mins ago I was 2gating a protoss, and he went gate->forge->2 cannons in his base... I expanded and won. What I don't understand is why do I get teams even with people like him? I have good macro, not korean but as good as many top tier players. I have good micro, I'm an old wc3 player, I'm creative and get good ideas that I later find only top korean pros use some not even used in US/EU yet, I watch day9, I love the game and dream of going pro so I think about strategies and what I need to practice much of the time when I'm not playing. Still I don't perform well, still I lose to retards and keep being teams even with people who goes cannons to defend..? Am I the idiot? What am I doing wrong? Whats your absolute best tip on getting to the skill lvl of a pro? I'm talented at most stuff when I get taught, but starcraft works the other way around compared to other sports. In other sports you join a team as a nooby you get trained by a coach and you own if you have talent and you don't if you haven't got talent. In SC2 you have to get good before you can get a coach, you have to get to the top and already beat the top tier players before they want to practice with you. I learn alot by empathy, 10x faster than if I can't use empathy to learn, I'm kind of a copycat, I see something people do no matter how hard I just need to understand how it feels to do it then I can do it much faster than most people, but I can't do that with SC2 except for mechanics and I have done that. Any tips on how to use it now when I don't have a pro sitting next to me to watch and copy? Watching replays in the build in first personview doesnt work that well since the mouse isn't on the screen so it's hard to copy. Sorry for the long messy post, hope you don't mind.
