People who were "D-" in BW but 1400 in SC2 seem to think that is a huge indicator. Tbh a LOT of my students are 1500~1600 and consider themselves struggling or still learning. basically don't compare!

Would the desire to become #1 ever make you want to give up coaching or do you find satisfaction in it on a level above monetary?

Would the desire to become #1 ever make you want to give up coaching or do you find satisfaction in it on a level above monetary? Yeah. In the past I have coached all the way up until a tourney and it was a bad choice by me. This time around I am taking the week before to myself almost solely. Aside from that I had school/a job outside of coaching that divided my time as well. Now I am graduated and barely work at gamestop so I am almost always coaching/training/gym or spending time with gf. So I have a lot more time and as such am playing at a higher level. I want to be #1. I don't think I'd ever give up coaching even if I was some how paid enough to not need it. I love coaching.. but I would absolutely cut back. 8-10 hours a day (not always, but 3x a week or so is a LOT of coaching.
