The theoretical resolution of a telescope is limited by: the distance from the target, and the size of the lens. If you crunch the numbers, given the size of the lens on these satellites, and their distance, the max resolution is like 2 inches. So no, you wouldn't be able to see letters (typically, a printed word is maybe 1 inch, so you'd get a word as a single black pixel on the image - unreadable, unless you have movie-style zoom-into-pixel magic). mdb, if you ever used Google to search for weather in your area, that could help explain it. Also, gmail. Google retains rights to data-mine everything that goes through their site, and with enough data, you could make remarkably accurate predictions (or guesses). | ||
