I'm so excited. If you don't hear from me in the next 7 days its good news. I have no internet devices for hospital so I'll go silent if it happens.
When I do return you can expect an AAR

With that out of the way, I'll point out that in honor of your upcoming procedure, I will be eating kidney beans with dinner (couldn't possibly be a coincidence).

I'll be eating kid knees just to make sure we're covering all bases. It's possible he comes out of this with child sized legs.

I just got home today ![]() Our hospital internet has tl.net banned for some reason (I think its because it has 'games' in a tag or something) so I couldn't update you at all. The operation was absolutely brutal. I ended up with a huge collection of blood between my stomach lining and skin which then solidified into haematomas. 10/10 pain all the way for about 5 days. Absolutely sick. Then that all liquified and burst out of the stapled together incision going halfway down my stomach. On the plus side, I had button controlled Fentanyl going into a line into my artery in my neck so that was lovely. The main thing is, after a couple of days adjustment period my new kidney is absolutely amazing. All my stats are back down to normal levels already, I can piss like a normal human again, and I can even walk around my house! Even though I couldn't read all your comments I received the good vibes anyway. My kidney is from a young man who died in a motorcycle accident. Everything I can now do is in his memory. xxx

Luckily my legs are of identical size to the legs with which I arrived at the hospital ![]()

To explain, my previous kidneys were both absolutely HUGE and full of cysts, and they hate removing kidneys because its an extra layer of danger in the surgery, so they just fit the new kidney in around them. This led to increased pressure and some of the cysts bursting from what I understand. Its not that uncommon. It doesn't help that I'm a bit of a fatty. Fat people are at much higher risk from surgery in general, and there's more space for blood to pool around the bottom of my belly. So yes, but no is the answer, if that's clear enough for you haha

There‘s to hope a new solution for GvH problems gets found so you don‘t need suppression (btw what are you taking for that, out of curiosity)

Sorry to hear it was necessary, amazed at how it went, and pleased to hear your life is improving due to it, and reverent that a man will have his legacy live on in you in a way that gives new and continued life to you! In memory of that man. Keep doing well!

There‘s to hope a new solution for GvH problems gets found so you don‘t need suppression (btw what are you taking for that, out of curiosity) I'm taking Adaport branded Tacrolimus (which is NHS standard I believe) and mycophenolate mofetil as immunosuppressants, and co-trimoxazole as the antibiotic to counter it. Its making me a little sick and very very sleepy, but we should be able to get that under control once the doctors have more data on how its affecting me...
