EPTIt is a nice hot Friday here in Southern California, It's crazy to stop and think back to all the time that has been spent with this great community / website / forum that TL is. It is crazy to think about how long I have been playing SC : BW, and that is what got me connected to anything / everything via gaming period, before that it was just playing for fun as a kid. As soon as I was introduced to StarCraft, my perception on gaming changed completely, even though I didn't realize exactly how much it was going to change when I first began, once I realized how different the game was going to be to me compared to the SNES / N64 / Gamecube games I played as a kid, I was hooked and I have been for 20+ years.
Just like probably every other nerd alive, I get frustrated at losses and say some dumb shit I shouldn't have done (especially if some drinking is involved lol, having some shots / bong tokes while on a gaming run is always fun ya know :-P ), and I stop playing the game for some periods of time, but I always come back.
The longest period of time that I stopped playing BW was only when SC2 came out, because I was constantly streaming and laddering SC2, but the yearning to get back and play BW was always there, like a void missing inside me that was missing because of the difference in the game. Don't get me wrong, I played SC2 up until maybe a year or so ago and then really felt the need to go strictly back to BW.
It has been awhile since my last blog, I just recently got into a new apartment that is much nicer than the studio apartment previously, there is a lot more space and it is a lot more comfortable so that is nice. I am now seeing this very beautiful woman that is actually Cambodian, it has been quite the trip. She is very bright & a very strong minded women, which leads to a lot of arguments, but usually we are able to work through it and try to get to the light at the end of the tunnel. Although it makes it quite difficult to play BW at times. =P
I have had issues with streaming so I haven't really been able to stream for quite some time, but that is usually my main time to practice, ladder and focus. Up until recently I have had major FPS drops on BW remastered (below 20-30 FPS for almost 30-40+ secconds sometimes), which made it nearly impossible to play. recently Blizzard put out their new PTR server and for me & a lot of others it seems to be showing some really positive results. Apparently they are "changing the way graphics work", I am not entirely sure what this entails but apparently it has something to do with how DirectX works (Correct me if I am wrong Tec)
I am 32 years old now, I am doing better financially then I ever really have done, I am still pursuing my dream here in Southern California, and I finally have my own home, which makes streaming / gaming actually a lot easier if any of you have ever had shitty room mates.
I would really love to travel to Korea soon, I would have a lot of friends to see there, I am strongly considering going for a little bit to visit / explore / adventure / travel. I would love to see some of the matches there, and enjoy my time. I have more than enough saved so that isn't really an issue at the moment, it is more with my girlfriend.
Hopefully this Corona Virus bullshit ends soon, I am really sick and tired of it as I am sure everyone else in the world is too. My condolences go out to anyone with any family / friends / loved ones suffering, and I pray they get better. As I said before, I am living in SoCal and this was initially one of the "epicenters" along with New York, restrictions have been tight here still, and with more spikes that we're seeing I am worried it won't stop anytime soon, although I am praying that it will.
Practicing. My practice regimen used to be very good, I used to be very focused, it is time to get back my original mindset in terms of gaming although alter it to form a better ultimate form of myself. I have been thinking about it for too long... to get back on a more strict practice regimen, to start participating in tournaments again ( not saying i'd win, but it will still be fun / good practice for me, I always get anxious in tournament settings, something I need to work on. ), and i'd like to be streaming more regularly.
WSL - WHITE STAR LEAGUE - I am planning with some people in WHITE the WSL, WHITE STAR LEAGUE, it has been in the works for some while now. A lot of the WHITE members are busy as of late, but I will provide more information on this soon.
