Unfortunately it's a hard task, because our player base is quite small. But it's honestly one of the best strategic RTS games in the world! Some of the game mechanics are very cool, such as each unit having a "ramping cost" which means it costs slightly more to spam a huge amount of the same unit. Aside from that, there are a lot of similarities with SC1. Micro/macro are both very important. Territory is important. Tech and decision to build wonders (which grant extra pop cap etc) are also big decisions to make. Add in 24 nations which all vary slightly and you have a very complex and fulfilling game. I encourage anyone who's curious about this to check out some of the games and cheer on your favourite team - NOMADIUM II will be finished within the next few weeks, we are up to the semi finals / quarter finals now Cheers

I play RON on single player (Mostly the modern age) and would like to watch the live finals, maybe a link to your twitch?

I play RON on single player (Mostly the modern age) and would like to watch the live finals, maybe a link to your twitch? Sure thing! The tournament format is similar to GSL, with a group stage followed by RO8. The brackets are a little mis-matched, as one half of the bracket played a lot quicker than the other. The next match will be the quarter finals between LAT Fusion (South American/Mexican) and PLA (Chinese). PLA are 70/30 favourites. If PLA win, they will play [El] in the semi finals (and subsequently, El are the reigning champs and are probably 80/20 favourites over PLA). If the favourites proceed, then the grand final will be [El] vs [TUF]... which will be an epic showdown. El won the inaugural tournament last year, however TUF are like a "super team" which includes the best players from the teams which placed 2nd/3rd/4th last year. So El are probably still odds on favourites, but TUF will give them a serious run for their money. I'd say it's too close to call if it gets to that stage. It will be dependent on the other matches, but I suspect the Grand Final will be played in about 3 weeks to allow for the other matches. I can let you know closer to time. It should be a great series, truly the elite in the world going at it for $600+ in prize money.

I'm the same as you - I used to play both SC and RON, and it's so nice that RON has a small but thriving community and competitive scene. If you want to dip your toe in the water again, I would recommend buying "Extended Edition" on steam and joining a few "nomad" multiplayer games. Nomad is kinda like the gold standard of what most players play. Online is about 80% nomad, 20% standard. Nomad is a more fun format because it's team based, there's a huge amount of variety and the city placements aren't fixed so you can get all sorts of crazy situations. You can also blame your team mates if you lose 1v1 Nomad is also possible but some nations are too strong, so random vs random can be sometimes unbalanced. Regarding guides, I would firstly recommend subscribing to "Rise of Patience" channel, that's the main one. It has tutorials, pro games, FPVOD's, and more. This tutorial series is great to start out the basics of Nomad: Regarding forums, we don't really have forums per se but we have an active discord channel. It would be nice if we can start a regular thread here on TL though. I would be happy to assist with any strategy talk. This is all about literally building a community up from ground zero. In the meantime please ask any queries on Discord Discord: https://discord.gg/DuRgQs3 (Rise of patience) Discord: https://discord.gg/rZzbSWG (Unofficial RON)
