PvZ isn't Imbalanced Anymore?

ManaBlue Canada10458 Posts May 24 2007 10:01 GMT #1 So what's the deal with Terrans being harder to beat than Zergs nowadays? Is this a revelation in styles or a reflection of the PvZ talent that is absolutely necessary for a Toss player to do well? I see it in the same way as the beastly TvP of Oov/Nada/Midas/Etc. The best players of a race are incredibly strong at the "hard" matchup, and so we now see Zerg eating monsters like Bisu and Free coming on to the scene, but showing great weakness to Terrans in the same way that players like midas and even Oov at times showed weakness to Zergs. (Their "easy" matchup) Thank god Reach is back in the OSL. He can teach these chumps how to PvT and hopefully pick up some of their PvZ flair.

Last Romantic United States20661 Posts May 27 2007 11:07 GMT #2 I think it's a map issue. If maps are bad for Zerg, they're usually good for Terran, and OK for protoss. This makes TvZ really quite easy, TvP fairly good, PvT somewhat hard, but PvZ somewhat easy. The pros have had similar comments about the maps, and the map stats in general reflect such trends. I mean, Monty Hall has barely any wins for Zerg at all. It's like 15%. If that. Geometry is 2:10 ZvT in ProLeague. Etcaetera. Python's fairly balanced, but I think it's the only one. The GoRush interview and Reach interview give similar analysis of TvZ on Desperado and PvT on Monghwan.

Slayer91 Ireland23335 Posts May 30 2007 00:54 GMT #5 Because the old p's weren't that hot pvz and everyone just blamed it on imba. Bisu is to PvZ what july was/is to zvp. (Although some maps ie MERCURY were pretty horrible for pvz, that is probably another factor.)
