Hey all. I'll be travelling to the US in the first 2 weeks of April for honeymoon. Will be visiting mainly the eastern side of the country, definitely going to Miami, Orlando, Buffalo and New York. Doubt we'll be driving though, mainly flying/trains. Any domestic airline with bad reputation? I heard pro players complaining about Delta losing their luggage bags?

Also looking for some suggestions for places of interest to visit or where to eat! Think we've written down seaworld, disney and niagara falls. Thanks!

Anyone tried morimoto nyc?

New York has some of the best food on the planet! Since you're from Singapore you'd have to give me an idea of what type of food you're looking for, but NYC's Chinatown is one of the first and best that's ever existed, though they feature more Cantonese style stuff due to the time period they arrived in America.

Buffalo will still be pretty chilly in April, so make sure to bring some layers! There's a lot of outdoors type stuff to do in that region of the country, but the city itself is a bit economically depressed so I wouldn't try to find too much in the city proper. There's ton of wilderness, especially up north near the Canadian border!

Miami has a ridiculous nightlife and a huge Latin population. If you're of that age or you like to club, you have to hit at least one in Miami. Food there is really good; lots of cuban restaurants that are really quite awesome. I've heard Miami Beach is amazing! Be prepared to spend a lot more money in Miami than in any of your other cities.

I've never been to Orlando, so I don't have much to say about that.

For ideas on things to do, NYC has some of the best art Museums on the planet; MOMA gets a lot of attention but there are plenty of small galleries. There's also Broadway, which has some of the best plays and performances known to man, and they aren't all necessarily super expensive (there's somewhere around 20 shows on Broadway at any given time, not just stuff like Hamilton).

Niagara Falls is great!

All of those cities are big sports cities, so you might be interested in catching a local sport team if you're into that sort of thing! NYC at that time will have basketball, baseball, and hockey; Buffalo will have hockey; Miami will have basketball and baseball.

Sorry for rambling, but I hope this helps somewhat!

Here in Singapore, we have access to everything. Chinese, Indian, Malay, Korean, Japanese, Italian etc. We have the fish and chips and the steaks too. Would welcome recommendations for any cuisine, though I'm most likely going to resist Chinese food until I get sick of the western stuff XD

I find Universal Studios is better than Disney unless there is something particular you want to see.

On your way up from Florida to New York I'd recommend Washington, D.C. Wonderful museums, monuments, and great food. I'd recommend you look for Caribbean and South American restaurants if you want something that you can't really get in Singapore - Cuban in Miami for sure (ropa vieja, empanadas, seafood), Jewish Deli in New York City (bagels with lox, cream cheese, and capers, or pastrami/corned beef sandwiches). I would do a steakhouse in New York City or DC as it's probably cheaper and fresher than the steaks you can get in Asia.

My girl's a Disney fan. We'd probably go 3 day Disney 2 day universal though. Would be after easter Sunday, hopefully crowd ain't the worse. Read bad things about that period though T.T

How many days you guys reckon I should spend in Miami and new York?

I've never been to Miami, so my recommendation would be "how much do you want to hang out on the beach and then go to really expensive clubs?" That will probably be your best bet for beach time, as around Easter it will be way too cool for beach time once you head up north.

New York...again it depends. There are several incredible museums that you could easily spend 2-4 hours in each. You can see a show on (or off) Broadway (there are ways to get cheap, day of the show tickets if you don't really care what you see) which is a 4-5 hour adventure. Statue of liberty is pretty cool but I'd probably recommend you just go take a look at it from the southern tip of Manhattan. You can spend a day at a korean spa in Fort Lee (free bus from midtown) or Brooklyn (but you can probably do that in Singapore). Tons of restaurants. If you want a Little Italy experience head to Arthur Avenue in the bronx (the little Italy in Manhattan is basically gone and all tourist traps now). Nathan's Hot Dogs over in Brooklyn. I think it's 2 days minimum.

Why Buffalo by the way?

Buffalo cuz I understand that's where you tour the Niagara falls. Am I wrong on that? Also I understand that the Canadian side generally has nicer views, but how do you tour the falls from USA? Is it recommended I take a boat tour or something?

Miami beach is a nice art deco city if that's your thing. Can definitely recommend going down South Beach at night. It all is a bit of a dollhouse, but it's still nice and there are some interesting architectural sights to see.

If you want to have decent cheap American food in Miami Beach I can recommend the Big Pink, but if you don't mind paying a little extra SoBe is full of nice restaurants along the beach often with live music.

In NYC try some good ole Jewish delis. Corn beef, pastrami, all the good stuff.

If you pass through Connecticut, there is a great deli in Woodbridge, CT called taxes that has the same stuff.

2 weeks is a short time. I highly recommend shortening your itinerary so that you can enjoy your honeymoon as oppose to wasting time traveling from one location to another. Disney World and Universal Orlando would be very fun. Considering the heat in Florida, you're going to appreciate the water park.

Sea Life Orlando Aquarium- Nearby there's Cafe Tu Tu Tango- American food, a good place for brunch/lunch right before a day exploring the aquarium. Excellent service might I add.

Hawkers Asian Street Fare- Malaysian food- Happy hour between 3pm-6pm Monday-Friday. $3 small plates $3 craft beers

The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar- If you are visiting Universal Orlando, drop by here. There's a lot of variety to choose from and the portion are quite big so be careful on over-ordering.

Havana Cuban Cuisine- If you are craving cuban food, I would highly recommend coming here. Get the Combinacion Cubana appetizers-- basically Cuban street food.

That's all I can remember from Orlando to be honest. I live in California so I came as a tourist as well. While you are traveling in the States, feel free to use apps like Yelp.com for reviews on food places. Keep in mind portion in America are quite large compared to that of Asia so try to share as much as possible. Get the Groupon app as well, you might be able to find deals that will make your visit cheaper. I would be more helpful if you were to visit California but this is all I have. As many people mention, NY have great food. From $1 pizza to Michelin Star restaurants, do your research accordingly. I hope you have a great honeymoon!

While in Florida check out:
