I doubt it, British non intervention has left it's (ex)African Colonies in some horrible combination of corrupt war torn poverty.

Damn, I was under the impression that all Caucasian Zimbabweans had already left the country. To read that three generations of your family still lives there is really surprising to me. I hadn't heard that the US dollar was on the way out again, that's a shame.
It sounds like you passed through three crises: land appropriation, hyperinflation and extortion. Underlying all that has been a continuous level of neglect by the ZANU-PF leadership of their country. They do not seem to be patriotic in the slightest.
I was really disappointed when ZANU-PF "won" the 2013 election after the power-sharing government. I guess Zimbabwe really is a dictatorship now. Your situation puts me in mind of immigrants elsewhere, they have to keep entirely out of politics too, although it depends on the country as to whether they lose their heads over it.

What a terrible situation, Idk how a society can recover when the skilled, educated, and powerful people flee in order to protect their families' livelihood. When those skilled/educated people leave, the vacuum it creates on a society, it just snowballs out of control
