35 some, 5 different groups. A dog.
The 3 days we spent at that place took something of a initiatic turn for me.
See, in 2015, one of my focus was to worry less about what other people may think about me, and allow myself to express what I truely am instead.
So I did a bit of that, and in the course of multiple events, including a booze induced 2h long fight with said dog (just playing of course), well... Let's just say I grew some more spine, some bigger balls. And that's a nice feeling to bring with you, starting a new year.
I rode on that feeling a bit (I still am, actually), and took much needed decisions concerning the direction of the project I'm working on.
Oh yeah, the project. If any of you here reads the Big Programming thread, you might have see me pull my hair about it a couple times. If you don't, well, basically I've been apointed CTO of a large and complex project summer of last year, when I've started programming (and overall making contact with The Exterior World) just a year and a half ago.
You can imagine the bumpy ride, having to figure out how to manage people at the same time as learning a new programming langage and designing the app architecture from scratch.
Also weighed in that ride the fact that I was assured that we were gonna get proper direction at some point - we never did -, and the ever changing needs of the clients/original designer.
Ok. So, first decision, fuck them all. I now have a clear idea of what is needed, and I'll focus on just that until we got something out.
And what do you know, turns out the original designer (and overall boss of this business) likes where I'm heading, and now I got to build an open source community, launch a crowdfunding campaign, and manage my own branch of that very project.
Well, 2016. Nice to meet you... Let's do this, I guess !
