Hello friends! I'm leaving for my first vacation in many years with my girlfriend on the 17th. our plan is to travel from London to Stockholm via rail over about a month. We'v been planning this trip for a long time so wer super excited Il be chronicling the trip as a blog, taking pictures of TL people i meet and writing about anything I find interesting. right now wer planning on stopping in a lot of places, but since wer using eurorail pass' nothing is set in stone and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D
I made a editable google doc to solicit ideas for stuff to do from the community while we travel from city to city, if any of you have any suggestions we'd appreciate any edits! also if there are any regulars that would like to meet up for a beer or some food I would love to hang out! just send me a pm if im passing through your town!
reading the doc, looks like you're planning it right in that you're not trying to do too many cities and spending a decent amount of time in each. cologne, berlin are much fun, although i'd def take a day from cologne to nip up to düsseldorf, if only because the beer is vastly superior
also check seat61 for your europe by rail information, although it appears to be down right now

I was going to say they could consider rail to Estonia then ferry over to Helsinki and then Stockholm! :D

A few suggestions from me then: * In Berlin there's an old Stasi-prison with guided tours. I found it very interesting. * Outside Berlin there's an old concentration camp called Sachsenhausen. There's not much of a museum there, but I found it very haunting and atmospheric. * In Berlin, the best place to eat (imo) is the Kartoffelkeller! * Walk around in the Old Town in Stockholm.
