Here for business of course, staying in Sodermalm.
Pretty fun, I have a free day on Sunday.
I think I will go exercise at http://www.bjj.se/schema/ but I'm not sure if sparring is open mat, but I'll get someone to ask for me.

Is there anything I really need to do Stockholm before I leave? Like something super cool etc, because right now, I've just been drinking ^^

Leaving on Tuesday!

My internet speed is 98MB up and down, nuts. not even kidding. I feel like in Korea again except everyone is taller than me, but lots of nerds here too (but still taller than me lol)!

If you have the time, taking a stroll through Old Town (Gamla Stan) is something I always try to make time for when I'm in Stockholm. It's a really nice place, both for the atmosphere (and the generally funky things you can find there, I guess) and the quality of restaurants/coffee. Possibly the most relaxing thing you could do, if you have the time and need for taking it easy for an hour or two. I'm afraid I can't remember the names any of the places I like to go to when I'm there, but finding something good shouldn't be a problem

Iirc from one of your previous post, you said you were a rugby player, but I didn't know you were into fighting. Also, I remember that you had surgery once... aren't you worried that you might get hurt again?

Hehe, I found their facebook page and left them a message.
I'm not a fighter at all, actually I'm quite untalented at real fighting. I did Judo on and off for most of my life while playing rugby but I never went for any tests so I'm still a white belt. Since I broke my ankle I stopped Judo and just do BJJ because it's kinda like Judo except it's mostly on the ground, so it's better for my ankle.
In terms of getting hurt again, I take it easy,I'm 40 now, so I'm not going full out and since I'm a white belt there too (after doing it for 5 years lol, I am never around for the tests), they won't do leg/ankle locks on white belt so I'm fine. ^^ Thanks for the concern though ^^

Some of the more touristy things to do: Skansen, Wasa Museum, Change of the Guards at the Royal Castle in Old Town, Dinner at the viking restaurant Aifur, the Royal Armoury, Taking a boat trip out to the archipelago, A walk in the Drottningholm Royal Gardens, A walk through the Woodland Cemetery (it's a world heritage site).

If you find your way to Yttersta tvärgränd or Gamla Lundagatan and go up to Skinnarviksberget it has a pretty great view of the western part of the city, from there you can go east to Monteliusvägen, which has a nice view of downtown and old town, then from there to Katarinahissen overlooking old town and Slussen (although easiest to get to from Mosebacke) and from there to Katarinavägen which has a nice view of the eastern part of the city, the old town harbour and Djurgården. Lots of photo opportunities throughout this walk.

Hot chicks hmmm, there's clubs and cafés around Stureplan that the more affluent or want to be seen as affluent people go to. But the more hipster chic are around Nytorget (try café string) or Café Rio near Hornstull.
Clubs are usually the best place to pick up women though if that's what you're looking for most other situations swedes are very reserved and don't like to interact with strangers too much. There's obviously exceptions to this, some (weird) people love meeting and talking to strangers.

Also would have loved to meet up and shown you around at least a little but right now I'm super busy getting ready to move and my place is half packed in boxes and not a pretty sight. I hope you have a great time in my lovely city though.

Hey guys and Hi back to all (Fazers) ^^

Well, I went to BJJ yesterday, played company of Heroes 2 on the company Lan with the developers lol (we played for 5 hours till 1am on Firday night LOL). I hadn't played it before, but quite fun after these dumbnuts explained more than just how to play, like how upgrades worked. I tried to zelot rush the game, but that doesn't work cause the it doesn't lol. (plus I never was a terran guy anyway) but fun fun game after I learned how to rush to mechanical. haha.

When to the old town, got some reindeer skin brackets for the sons and I'm really liking it here. I was thinking of relocating the family to Zurich, but now Stockholm seems like a great option, it's 1/2 the price of Zurich in terms of living (inlcuding taxes) and it's nice and diverse. I see a lot of (relative) of Korean babies with Swedish families and I think that is such a cool/nice thing. While I dont want to open of can of worms by the following statement, I think those babies are extremely fortunate and blessed and ulimately much better off here in Sweden -immesurally better- expecially since I think the Swedes have a good character -relative to the cultures I've met-. While my first time in Sweden, I've worked closesly with Swedes in the last 10 years and of course I'm in Stockholm because I've made a partnership here for s/w development.

Anyways, great time so far, and the women are so beautiful, this city did not disappoint. ^^

Are there more blonds than brown/dark haired natives? How often do you see an Asian person in the city? What's the vibe with the Swedes? I would assume they are very friendly and very open-minded

avoid stureplan. that place suffers from a massive concentration of absolute cunts.

aside from that, it's a very nice city and swedes are very nice people.

It's really hard to say what's cool about the city you live in, but try some nice restaurant or something. There are quite a few good ones, just avoid the ones that seem touristey...

If you want to experience something relaxing, you can always take Saltsjöbanan and walk around a bit. Or just walk around Djurgården or Hagaparken. Very nice places.

If you're still here on thursday, the big holiday of outdoor drinking and bonfire watching (valborg) takes place then. Go to Skansen or something. If you feel adventurous, you can go to Uppsala (technically another city, but its only 40 min by commuter train) and look at drunk people. I will be there.

String isn't the cool place to be, but there's usually nice people there still.... I mean it was a hot place what.... 20 years ago or so... back when petsounds was still relevant....

Agree!! Stureplan fauna is absolutely horrendous. I had friends thrown out of night clubs because they didn't look exactly like the regular customers (blond girls with straight hairs dressed like this or that etc...)

Just don't go there

I'm curious, why do you want to relocate your family? Do you feel it would provide you some cultural advantages or maybe better education? Is it just nicer to live in Europe?

Also, how do you go about experiencing all these beautiful women? You used to be pretty content with the choice you've made, but has it been getting harder as time went? I know you like women and you travel a lot

I like Europe in general, but I hope that my sons can learn football at a high level and that is easier to do in Europe, plus, I'd rather my children have more of a focus on critical thinking and so the major issue is the education of the children, I'm personally fine to live anywhere where work takes me. But I think of course Europe for the most part is an ideal place to raise young children.

I think as a man, if you still got some juice in you, there is nothing wrong with noticing, appreciating the ladies around you and it's always a great experience a new country and see all the charm/apeal of those ladies. And I personally every year love my wife more and more and appreciate her more and more. Maybe it is cultural, but I don't think it's a sin to appreciate beauiful women. ^^
