EPTI am going to tell about my Local Area Network gaming experience around the years 2004-2008 and relive some of the cool memories i have of those times .
Warcraft 3 was released in 2002 but i was able to play it a little later . So in 2004 i was in grade 6 . And me and my 2 brothers were able to play this game which would become one of the most popular competitive game in the coming years . Firstly , we just started playing the campaign and would play some normal games against the computer . But then my cousin who had joined a university came in his summer holidays to live with us since his family had moved abroad . He told us about how he and his friends had setup the LAN and were able to play against each other . And he had good news that we would be able to establish a 1 v 1 gaming setup . Those times laptops were pretty much unheard of to me and my cousin had brought the whole desktop pc and stuff along . So we were able to connect in multiplayer to play 1 v 1 . We started playing against each other and developing strategies on our own . Those times we had no clue about the replays and popular players . I would play Orc , as would my elder brother . My younger brother started off with Undead and my cousin with Night Elf . Me and my brothers had school but sometimes we wouldn't go to sleep and after our parents had checked on us , we would slip off to the computer room and practice a few games . We did get caught and got scolded , we couldn't keep track of time and my mom was awake in the morning and we couldn't go to our room without getting caught. We organized a tournament among ourselves after we had some good idea of game . Made a schedule for matches . My little brother had a strategy of maxing out his supply on crypt fiends and rely on death knight (arthas ) and lichking and he eliminated me and my elder brother ( orc) . Now my cousin knew of his strategy and the final was a best of three . NE vs UD . He asked for some time to counter his strategy but when the games happened , it turned out that his first strategy was to counter with ranged units like dryads and huntresses which failed . Next game he tried the mountain king , druid of the claw combination , it didn't work and my lil bro won.
By then we were exposed to LAN gaming but it was just at our home . in 2005 one of my neighboring friend told us about a gaming cafe where everyone would be able to play at one time .
We went in the evening and we were super happy with the experience , almost went nuts . The next day i remember when we came back from school , we didn't want to eat the lunch or anything , we were just waiting for our dad to come home and we would ask him to drop us . The moment he came , me and my lil bro just went crazy that we wanted to go to that place to play . At first he was very suprised but he agreed . We would go to gaming cafe on weekends and spend time from morning to evening . Most of the people would be playing Mohaa( Medal of Honour Allied Assault) those days So we would also compete with them in free for all .Sometimes we would play the 3 corridors in warcraft 3. It was a lot of fun . Then i started practicing warcraft 3 normal at home and i would tell my little brother that everytime we go we would play 1 or 2 games .. It were those days when the first maps of dota 1 were released . Yes i have played dota 1 since its beginning when there were its maps 5.73 5.73b and later moved to 6.01 and onwards later to 6.82 something. My little brother began developing interest in dota 1 and started to lose focus on the warcraft 3 normal. He wouldn't practice much and my score went quite high I remember sometimes he would be sitting in base and waiting for me to attack while i had captured 2 -3 gold mines and doing full researchers and he would be constantly whining " JUST ATTACK ME ALREADY " -- hahahaha , so when he would meet my bloodlusted shaman army with tauren warriors and raiders he would pretty much get annihilated. Once i had placed sentry wards with witch doctor and my bro was so pissed at me . He decided to send half army from one side and other half from other side in the map The Two Rivers . I saw it and crushed one half and he left the game . xD
Soon he would refuse to play warcraftt 3 normal and i had no one to play with .
We shifted to dota 1 . There were 3 friends of my elder brother , they would also come to play dota 1 with us . We became good friends. We played a lot of and lot of dota 1 around 2006-2008, there were 4 little tournaments with prize money of dota 1 . 2 times me and my brothers won and 2 times our other 3 friends . The other teams that would be participating didn't have much practice and they were casual gamers who would just be competing for fun , we never felt much competition , just a few times but we always made it to the finals . The first final of my first dota 1 tournament is most memorable . I played Gondar , my elder brother Enigma and my little brother TideHunter.
I remember i was able to make the following items before eventually winning from being behind in game . Power treads , butterfly , sange & yasha , bruiza do kyanon ( now it has a different name )

We always played a few games of counter strike 1.6 everytime we went . Mostly it would be de_dust 2 and depending upon number of people A only or both A and B.
A game i also remember we were able to play 1v1 at home was Unreal Tournament 2004 ( a classic from the unreal series).
I left playing games for sometime until i found starcraft 2 and currently the amazing Dota 2 (2013- still going ) and hearthstone .

I had a lot of fun writing something about my past in the gaming world . I could go on writing and writing about a lot of related stuff that happened . But i think that's it for my second blog . I hope to be able to improve my writing like this . Also i am enjoying it . peace
