Hello there, and welcome to a spontaneous blog.
Some weeks ago, I realized I was top10 in liquibets. I was running around rank 7, always staring on FFW_Rude since he was either some points ahead or tied with me. To be honest, I started using liquibets because that number at the top left annoyed me. a lot. that's why I'm also guessing randomly on bw liquibets, I hate those numbers popping up.
But - once I had realized that I am actually not too bad at guessing (because I placed my bets on feelings, supported with a bit of knowledge about the players and the tournaments), I really wanted to climb that liquibet ladder. I still did not do any research about the players, and lately, as Code S ro8 started, I managed to climb a bit further: + Show Spoiler +hello, jake!
Seeing Zest vs. soO, the decision was rather easy: Zest is on fire lately, and while soO is one hell of a good Zerg, I feel like he won't be able to beat a KT protoss that can focus on his single tournament. Then I took into consideration that currently, SKT is letting go of great protosses, and PartinG, who'd still be a great guy for preparation, is off the road, getting his ass kicked in RBBG. Easy choice (but let's see, those 5 points might bite me at the end).
Then my eyes fell on Innovation vs. Cure. And this was the point where I decided to blog. Up to this point, liquibet placings were a "hm, I think this guy's better" or "hm, I think I like this guy more than the other one" (obviously I'm a bandwagoner? :D). Then, only minutes ago, I found myself on aligulac, checking for Innovation's TvT rate. So, what did I do in the end?
+ Show Spoiler [my placing] +I went with Innovation. Though TvT is and always will be his Achilles heel, he's in Korea, he's focusing on GSL, and he's on fire. Cure was abroad in RBBG, losing roughly 3 or 4 days of training and showing some flaws in his TvT. He also gave away a TvT series to Bunny (not saying bunny's bad, but he's at no point Code S Ro4 material) and lost to Innovation 0-2 before. In the meantime, Innovation pretty much wrecked his terran opponents, having lost only a single bo1 in ATC to Axiom's Heart.
At this point, I am really eager to get top1. I might be top3, but ever since I am checking the stats, there's that BeateR guy who's really good at it! As such, my relationship to starcraft is way too emotional. I got myself into two mod notes at the RBBG LR thread, and at that point I realized that the TL.net community is really something that's accomodating me for a lot of things that went wrong in my life. Don't get me wrong - I have a decent life, a decent job, a wonderful daughter - it's just that I always get at that point where I realize that I can do more, that I can be way better than this - and then I stop doing anything and go down the rabbit hole, because - well, I don't know why.
I started laddering - and I'm 46-5 in plat. Oh well, and since I am not being promoted instantly, I stopped it again. This blog might go deep into some self-reflection, so I'll end this right here . Just hoping that I'll get top2 or even top1 on liquibets.

I also picked Zest and INnoVation. This way I can be disappointed if Cure wins, or impressed if soO wins, or annoyed if Cure and soO win.

Now that I know how you are voting, I can guarantee that I will still be tied with you after all of this

And hopefully tied for first! I guess I need password protected spoilers in the future. I plan to continue those liquibet blogs.

If you don't make calculated risks, you'll never take the lead. But we do need to take BeaTer down. He has been on top for far too long.
Before RBBG I would have gone with Zest/Cure, but I just can't bring myself to bet on Cure after watching his TvT there

WP sir That's what happened to me all the seasons since 2011 or so. Maybe I should've added to my blog that my motivation to win liquibets also comes from a "let's do ALL the bets" mentality.

I just saw this. I never played Liquidbets (or maybe during WOL beta). So i don't think i could be ahead of you
Also don't worry with emotion and starcraft. I'm literally requesting my bans before they get to me :p I cried during SPL when Flash's parents cried and i screamed so loud and kicked my desk so strong that i bruised myself when i saw the Nexus going down during TY's game.
Watching Starcraft is a passion. If you have emotion, then you are pationate.
