A few months ago I made a post on the Dota 2 Reddit forum suggesting an idea that the community might be interested in. I really want to contribute to the community and I thought this way would be informative and interesting.
My idea was to make a youtube video that condensed all of the games of all of the main tournaments each week that purely just gave results of the games (heroes that were played, who won and which heroes the players used).
I didn't announce a date on which I would make these videos public and still would like some advice and what people would think of said video and if they would watch it.
As there are many tournaments I was also thinking of making four different videos and dividing the tournaments by region (Europe, SEA, China and NA).
Please let me know what you think about this idea and if it would be worth it. I came up with the idea as I noticed a lot of people always complaining about not being able to keep up with tournaments and that the information is scattered.
Any comments/suggestions are appreciated

i definitely think it's a good idea, but it does sound like a lot of work, especially for the upcoming month which is pretty busy

My plan was to release the series after TI was over as I don't want to start on TI when it's already in progress. Also it will give me time to perfect the videos and perhaps release a prototype for people to judge.

as in, after TI4 main event or TI4 qualifiers? it might be useful before the TI main event with all the big LANs and whatever online events coming up like D2L, D2CL, ADL, jDL, etc too. a WPC episode might be a good pilot? after TI4 it could get quiet for a few weeks while teams chill for a bit post-TI season.

After the main event but I see what you mean with all these tournaments happening it would be useful for people to watch and keep up. That's a good idea, to just focus on one tournament for the first video to gauge people's reception of the video.

It'd be best if you got it up for at least the main Tournaments and did a trial run before TI. Having a series like that during TI would be the best idea for you IMO as just the title TI4 Highlights would get you a lot more attention. Doing it afterwards I don't believe is as good because after TI there is normally a lot of down time as teams reshuffle rosters and there aren't any real major tournaments to cover for a while.

If you're able to, I suggest doing it for ESL and for the D2L playoffs mainly right now. Both are coming up soon and have top teams playing often enough against each other to give you some good content.

Well there's Liquipedia.... if people want to look up tournaments.

But sure, videos are a more easily digested media so I'll give my 2 cents.

I suggest not splitting it up into regions, I also think you should keep the hero stats fairly short, if you decide to do them at all, I imagine it will take some time to compile all that data (unless datDota has some nice way of doing it week by week for multiple tournaments.

Also concentrate on some kind of storyline, like just reading up league results is hard to follow, it's better to talk about a few select teams and their progress during the week. The teams to highlight would be the ones that either lost a lot or won a lot (or more than expected.), or the ones fighting for spots to advance (or to not be relegated a division). And also obviously the storyline of a particular tournament, especially the ones with knock out stages.

So kind of treat early and late leagues stages differently. And knock out stages completely differently.
