This is a bit delayed, and he has already made an appearance in another blog of mine, but I am bored at work and thought I would take some time before WCS to formally introduce TL to the latest addition to the Servo Family.
This little muppet, is Whiskey
The day after my birthday, while en route to catch Monument Men (which I still haven't seen, but according to reviews I may have dodged a bullet.), my girlfriend and I opted to pop into our local humane society. We had been doing this for some amount of time, mainly to satiate her need to pet puppies. It is also a bit of fun to stop in and help out for a bit or take a dog for a walk, all in all not a bad way to kill a hour or so.
What didn't help was my brother and his fiancee had just adopted this puppy as well. To which my girlfriend jokingly responded, "If they get a dog first, I am showing up to their wedding pregnant."
By this point and time, when had seen a lot of dogs, some puppies some older; the riskiest day was when she encountered a Corgi mix that just about put her over the edge during the peak of holiday shopping. It just so happened that this day a six year old Yorkie, Terrier mix had arrived the day before from Missouri. She was inordinately smitten with the dog, almost immediately.
After she spent fifteen to twenty minutes coaxing the dog forward in its kennel, and trying her best to pet it through the enclosure I managed to pull her away to grab lunch before the movie. Over lunch though, it was apparent she was still preoccupied with the little dog. In lieu of the movie, I told her we would go back and spend some time with the dog one on one.
His head is disproportionately large when compared to his body, this angle just makes it look ridiculous
We asked to play with the dog a bit in a private room and he played my girlfriend like a fiddle. Fawning after belly rubs (his favorite by far), chasing after toys, and what sealed the deal was his climbing up onto the chair my girlfriend had left her coat on and attempting to take a nap on her coat. After that, she could hardly ask for the paperwork fast enough and we brought the little guy home in February.
He basically lives to be by myself or my girlfriend, as well as for belly rubs, and is absolutely loving his new home. I don't mind the little guy, despite the fact that for only being twelve pounds, and not much larger than my cat, he can take up an absolutely obscene amount of real estate when you're trying to sleep at night.
It really was the perfect fit, we don't have time to properly train a puppy, but his demeanor and attitude fit really well into our little family unit. Though my cat has yet to fully adjust to the latest addition to the group, they are (slowly) warming up to one another.

I'm not a fan of Yorkies or small dogs in general (my Jack Russell excluded) but this is a cute little thing. Nice story too  Did he come with the name or did you name him that? What is his backstory?
Pet him for me please.

I will as soon as I am home from the office. The name on the certificate was Whiskers which we felt was a bit too cat-like and not a good name for a dog anyway. So we went with something phonetically similar, so he wouldn't be as confused as if we just renamed him all together.
We don't really know anything about why he was given up, but based on the name and his demeanor we suspect he was an elderly individual's dog that was given up.
I am generally not a fan of small dogs either, and had he been yippy or overly excitable in the kennel I probably would have fought it more. He doesn't really make a peep except when one of us comes home from work, which I had never seen in a dog like him before.

I personally find bigger dogs more entertaining. They are more badass and play more.
My last dog was the best, he was carrying whole trees around with him. The bigger and heavier, the more proud he was about it.
My father has your dog in back, i just cant do anything with him -.-

Dogs: Pussy Magnet Man's best friend.
Should have gotten a larger dog, Tiny dogs have the most annoying bark, can't wait until he drives you up a wall.

Doesn't make a peep at anything actually, save for when I get home for about 2 minutes until I let him out.

I'm a terrier fan, had two in my lifetime so far. Both gone now though 
Stubborn like the scots who bred them.

It is basically the opposite in terms of demeanor, most cats don't take to humans right away and most dogs just beg for some kind of attention. That dog in the couch really looks like a pony now, I was hanging out with him the other day and he is HUGE, compared to then. Gonna be a much bigger pup.
