Hey everybody, it's been awhile since I've made a blog, so here this is.
I've recently gotten into a Junior College (2 years of pre-varsity education in Singapore), and while it isn't one of the top tier colleges here, it's up-and-coming and has amazing facilities. In any case, I think all rising schools need students like me anyway /
I'm glad to be here because I'll finally get to study Literature in school and get to focus on the humanities. I've never done really well in the sciences, so I'm relieved that they're no longer there to pull down my average grade. Hopefully I'll be able to do well for my A Levels since I'm focusing on 2 subjects that I'm extremely passionate about - history and literature. If anybody has any advice on how to survive the transition from classrooms to lecture halls, it'll be greatly appreciated.
In any case, the past few school days were spent as 'matriculation days' where we were introduced to the school culture and all that preppy stuff. It was fun, but the cheers and all the hype aren't my type of thing. I love my new school, but I don't think I can be as enthusiastic as the student leaders jumping around and leading cheers. They seem pretty queer to me. Anyway, we were all assigned into different groups and I met all sorts of pretty cool people. My group consists of 20 students, 4 of which (including myself) are in the arts stream, I guess the numbers aren't surprising given that it's Singapore after all.
I met this girl who had a pretty weird name, but I don't want to use her real name here so we'll just call her X. She's cool, and I could tell she felt really awkward around guys, so this morning I saw her at the hall waiting for school to start, so I sat beside her and started talking to her. X is 16 and has been in an all-girls school for the past 8 years, so I guess that explains most things. The conversation was surprisingly fluid and I didn't have to try too hard to keep the ball rolling, that made me pretty happy because I could also make her laugh very easily. Like most shy girls, she does that thing where they cover their mouths with their hand when they start laughing. She stopped doing that after awhile so I hope she's warmed up to me.
In the later parts of the day, the new students were supposed to learn this stupid dance and we had to pair up with people of the opposite gender. The boys in my group were timidly standing around and asking if they could just partner up with each other instead, so I decided that it was time to leave the old me behind and start being a man.
I stepped forward and went, "Hey X, come here!".
She looked really surprised and scampered over while giggling, so I was relieved that wasn't a complete disaster. We had a pretty fun time doing some modern disco dancing thing. Moving on, when school ended I saw her on my way out of school, so I thought that I should get her number. I waved at her, walked toward her, and gave her my phone to key in her number. At this point I thought I was going to die because I'd never think of doing something like this.
Next thing I knew, she asked me how I was going to go home, and it turned out that we were taking the same route back to a train interchange. We walked out of school, and she wanted to take a bus, so I suggested that we should just walk to the train station. I could tell she was really nervous because she probably hasn't taken many walks with guys. Anyway, she agreed to walk with me and it was a really nice 15 minute walk. At the end of it, I asked her to the dance that the school is hosting tomorrow, SHE SAID YES.

You don't know anything about girls. It's just cold calculation on her part. She knows men want to be protective over the weaker sex, she's not nervous at all, she just acts that way in order for you to like her better. Afraid of taking walks with guys? Even if she went to a female only school nobody can be that sheltered.

Haha, never change, Shauni.

Not every woman is a cold hearted bitch.
Edit: Azera, you;re right, I am proud of you.
