so I'm planning to buy a gaming laptop, and I wonder what you guys think the best cost/value ratio laptops are. I'm looking to buy in the 300€ (~415$) range, I don't really want to go higher than that. Also, it should be able to run SC2 and LoL smoothly. Having good, silent vents is also a plus as loud laptops annoy me in general. So yeah, ideas?   | ||

trust me on this one, i owned 3 and is using one right now. cooling should be high up on your list after hardware. a quiet laptop means a weak fan cooling system (that's the case for most of them) Also define smoothly and what settings do you aim to play SC2 at? 1v1? it's easy to run LoL at uber smooth frame rate, but for sc2, it's much much harder | ||

It has a list of pretty much every graphics card, and if you click on one, it'll tell you the approximate FPS it has for popular games. I got a fairly standard Intel HD Graphics 4000 (about 300th on the list), and it runs both games fine. (I usually run low settings on SC2, but it can run medium if there isn't too much going on) | ||

I'm surprised no one made a comment on the OP's price range for this laptop. With $600USD is a good price to set for a decent laptop that can run games, but is not actually not branded a gaming laptop. I myself went with an ASUS K series and it ran SC2 1v1 pretty well on medium settings and runs Dota2 well on medium/high settings. I made sure that the computer stayed cool though. I always elevated the laptop and also bought an external usb fan to keep the laptop cool as well. | ||
