I was having this discussion with the wife the other day - she still insists we get a King bed someday, but the cheapass in me wants to wait until the current mattressi are beat in some more. Overall, even though it looks completely terrible and would be unacceptable for a house showing when that time comes.

Anyways, MEGA BED - the term I created to describe our two queen beds assembled into one giant bed:

The story behind is pretty standard: we each brought a queen bed when we moved in together many years ago, and had them in separate bedrooms in rental, but now with the house, kids, and accumulated family furniture, have already furnished the spare bedrooms/bonus that the spare queen wasn't needed for a guest bed, and MEGA BED was born!

Advantages:
Lots of space. 4 comforters, 8 pillows, and fun play area for the kid who basically uses it like a trampoline jumping from one clump to another.
Different heights of the bed (one is IKEA!) make certain sex positions more manageable.
I toss and snore often, and have gas a lot (asian lactose fail!).
She also ninjas the blanket a lot.

Dis-advantages:
We don't spoon/cuddle as much as we used to.
The dog sleeps with us now.
Wifi is pretty weak at the #1 bed

Just figured I'd share, and see if anyone else is a MEGABEDDER.

Oh brother. I remember when I moved in with mine. We just left one at the parents place and cuddled in the queen before getting our King.

is this because there is this is the best bed in existence, if not all time?

Well it is one Megabed after all.

Also: LOL at the beds being different height.

This thread makes me want to get my bed on. Sleeping in a 200x90cm bed like a little kid. Buy another 200x90 and place them next to eachother or just get a new 180 bed maybe?

Maybe you could work towards having 2 queens on top of the existing 2 queens and have MEGABUNKBED.

Growing up I was 100% into bunk beds. Even freshman year college I though loft beds were great... at least until trying to get into a girl's panties.

THAT IS THE MOST AWESOME IDEA EVER. Too bad there are limits to what the wife will put up with. MEGABUNKBED is probably in that region. Now if I had 3 wives each with their own queen beds...
