The year is 2013. The other day during my job, I am a cashier, this asian fella comes through my line. He asks if I am korean. I say yes. I ask him if he's korean. He lifts his sleeve to reveal a tatoo of the south korean flag. Word. At the end of the day, I think nothing of it other then that he seems like a chill asian (not one of dem starcraft2 nerds).
Fast forward a couple days later, 5 mins before my shift is over lo and behold who comes through my lane again. As fate would have it, this strange korean brutha has returned. Destiny must have brought us together. I notice immediately he has the same shirt on since the last time I saw him and he says yea he's been in the same clothes all weekend.
Anyways, after I ring him up, he waits for me to finish my shift coz he wanted to talk to me bout something. So after my last customer and I get a thumbs up from my boss that it's time to clock out, we start talking.
He asks me if I would be interested in making some extra money on the side of my part time job (not sketchy at all right). I reply well it depends what it is. He responds that he works in the telecom field, a 10.5$ trillion dollar industry. I'm like well cool! I've invested in a couple telecom stocks over the past year. He says well then you seem like a smart person. He asks for some contact info and I scribble my phone number on a piece of receipt. He says we will be in touch.
So my initial thoughts are, why does he say that the telecom industry is 10.5 trillion when wikipedia says the global telecom industry was 4.7 trillion last year? Also after he mentions that, why does he complement me by saying I am a smart guy? What is his alterior motive????
Also, if I need to give him ANY money at all to be able to make money, I am immediately shutting this whole thing down coz that just screams scam. And if he starts talking to me bout a fricken pyramid scheme, I am going to shit my pants, roll over, and die.
My guard is up, but my curiosity is over 9000. Now, I wait.
