Hi all, rkshox here with my First ever TL blog post. Before I get into nitty gritty, I think a small intro is necessary.
I born and raised in New Jersey, US. I travel back and forth from China/HK/Taiwan, and since I come from a Taiwanese background, I chose Taiwan as my location (even though I'M there once or twice every two months). I grew up playing CS, Dota, SC1, BW, War3. Eventually made the transition to Dota2 and SC2. Been on TL for almost 1 1/2, but recently have been a little more involved with the community. And that's where my blog begins!
At the end of 2012 I moved here to Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, for work. I wish I could say I lived in downtown Shenzhen, but unfortunately, my boss decided that country side Shenzhen would be cheaper to make base for her company.
Being bored as all Hell one weekend, I searched Hong Kong in the search bar and came across the First ever HK eSports tournament. I read the description about How everyone was saying the displacement of price money is whack and then came across How the organizers had a lot of volunteers for their company. After reading that line, I shot up and sent a message to the OP, I never thought I would be messaging HK's number 1 SC2 player, stimmedprobe. He told me that they are always looking for help and really just want to spread eSports in HK.
My first visit to their studio, was a rather unfortunate one, there were only LoL broadcasts going on the two Days I could spare some time to hang out and see what they were all about.
One thing lead to another and I was given the task of administrating SC2 for the HK qualifier at i-One, Cheung Wan, Hong Kong.as well as taking pictures. All things aside, I had not played SC2 on a regular basis for months, I knew the basics, but if you asked me if I knew what I was doing (as an administrator) I would have told responded with "uhhhhhhh". It was a good warm up and a good way to get experience in the scene before the grand finals next Saturday.
Without talking too much more fluff, here are the pictures I promised! Sorry my pics are not up to par with R1CH's, but leave a comment and let me know what you guys think. I did not want to get any profile shots to avoid breaking the player's concentration.

I also temporarily work right outside of Shenzhen but go back to HK every weekend, if you ever need help with anything feel free to let me know! Don't speak any canto of course but cool to know someone else who visits HK often and whatnot.

I'm not really the person to get in contact if you want to volunteer or help out, but if you really want to help out, I can get you in touch with the right people at HKeSports.
I don't speak any canto as well and get by with speaking English and Mandarin in HK. People always have to do a double take with me, since, well, I'm not white haha.
Glad to see another TL-er in the SZ area. You think there's anymore? Maybe we can get a small TL picture/get together at the grand finals.

I don't know I don't really spend tooo much time in SZ to know if there's anyone here, probably one or two but eh not worth it. But yeah for sure I'll hopefully grab my finals ticket somewhat soon, too bad they are so expensive though.

I am assuming the venue will be super cold, so I am bringing my TL hoodie. I'll be the guy with the nikon dslr strapped over my neck with a TL hoodie.
Yes, the prices are very expensive, but it's a small venue, so I assume "nosebleed" seats don't put you too far away from the stage.

Hi guys! I'm the manager of Quantic Gaming. Although none of the Quantic players will be at the event (HyuN lost ro.4 during the qualifiers  ), I booked a flight to be able to enjoy the event. The thing is I don't know anyone so if there are people willing to hang out with me during the event, feel free to pm me in TL
