Looking through all the big ones Sc2/CS:GO/LoL/Dota 2 it seems like Sc2 is the only one that I can think of that is not a team game, does anyone know of some others or am I stuck on Sc2 until something else comes along?

yes

JK. there are all the fighting games and quake I guess
In Hungry Hungry Hippos there are no such constraints—one can constantly attempt to collect marbles with one’s hippo, limited only by one’s hippo-levering capabilities.

Oh yea I completely forgot about fighting games D:

Doubt I'd ever get involved in them though seems like they are less of an online community then I would like.

Chess. It's not electronic per say however like other ESPORTS you don't have to be physically fit to excel.

Poker? It's not an esport but it's a great transition from someone who's played SC a lot.

If you are counting board games, then go with Go!

This is straight up wrong. For anyone who ever played chess more seriously than just for fun, it's obvious that fitness and stamina are extremely important to maintain concentration. The better heart and vascular system are trained, the better they handle stress of difficult positions and time pressure. Also, tournament runs often take several days during which players' energy is gradually drained out; those who excercise usually have more of it at the end of the competition, when everything is decided.

Agreed, I've been to several muti day events and the last few matches can either be your best or a total failure if you lack the energy and motivation to concentrate with the intensity required for hours on end.

There was another game that was pretty popular before SC2, maybe you've heard of it, it was called StarCraft.

SC2 is the only "big" single player esport atm, thats for sure.

Its not the only one though!

I'd personally like a nicely balanced 2v2 / 3v3 fps.

Yea, maybe I'll just stick with Sc2, it's shitty though I don't really feel any connection to the game because of the lack of in game content besides ladder and it just feeling lonely in general. Plus I don't have faith in Blizzard to keep this game alive for 5+ years,

Maybe Pro players can do the same but I guess Kespa/ proleague players have washing dishes and cleaning the house as for this.

Also EG players like Incontrol, Machine and former Idra, tyler/nony seems to be always working out.

Huk and some koreans plays occational football.

As to quote Budda:

"To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear."

I think it seems to be the general formula but I am not really buying it. A dude can play Sc2 and own without being fit.

lol, it's BS that BW was more fun to play

It's more fun to watch that's for sure. But I don't enjoy fighting my keyboard just to do simple things.

It's not surprising that online based, competitive, 1v1 games left you feeling lonely. Maybe you're not really looking for a 1v1 game?

Serious players in the fighting game community tend to have a lot more going on offline if you're looking for more of a communal experience.
