So, I'm on vacations for 1 month, will have to return to Athens around 23-24 august.
I'm at Paros, a stunning island with subpar inet connectivity.
Between my morning walk to the beach and the afternoon/night walks around the island, I got some hours to kill but I can't even watch youtube vids in decent quality without stuttering.
I was thinking of purchasing a console to game a bit but I don't know what to get.
Help me decide, shall I get ps3/xbox? Mby a handheld better and if so which one?
Don't forget to include some games for the console you recommend since I'm clueless.
*i'd prefer not buying xbox/ps3 since the new versions are coming out soon but what do i know

I would consider saving those money and spending those extra hours onto something.
I was in a similar situation not a week ago only that I was in a village in the midle of nowhere, alegedly for 2 weeks only, other than about 8 books I had nothing to entertain myself with but a shitty laptop and shitty internet so I just practiced on my guitar more than usual and read some of the courses for next year ( academic year that is, not actual year ), thus i kinda saved time for when I can be a slug in front of my PC.
Also, start drinking regullary before bed, I did so and I slept much longer. Don't get drunk, just a tad bit tipsy, have a few beers or glasses of win and than head to sleep. It might have been just me, but for some reason it made me sleep around 8-10 hours when i generally sleep 5-7 hours, not to mention you fall asleep easier which is always a plus when you aren't looking forward to the next day :p
If you really want to buy a console, get a PSV and buy person and just waste your time there, I haven't played it but I've heard from dozens of people that it's a great time sink. And it won't be as expensive nor will it's lifespawn be as short as the one of an xbox360/ps3.

pickup volleyball/football games
chat to girls
chat to anyone
the possibilities are endless, and you want to watch youtube videos and play video games??

you, or someone who loves you, is spending a lot of money so that can take a well deserved break from prostesting work and taxes or whatever it is that you do and get to hang out on an island that looks like this

Enjoy your vacation, don't waste the time playing shitty ps3/xbox games.
After you'll start working and only have a small summer vacation, you will start enjoying vacations a lot more.
If you really need to satisfy your gaming needs, play something on your phone, or if you got a laptop play an old game that you enjoyed when you were young, and you would never play it at home where you have access to your usual games.

Paros is such a nice place, why would you play video games ?
It's true that it's not the most crowded of all Cyclades islands, but still, plenty of stuffs to do there.
You can also take the ferry boat to other islands if your budget allows.

Remember, you can game/surf the internet when you get back. When you're in a place like that take full advantage of it. Go for walks, enjoy the scenery, talk to some people, and go for a swim. Realise how lucky you are!

Paros is a fucking awesome place. Go find somewhere to do horse riding, its awesome in the mornings over there.

it's actually great. i've tried 2.5 weeks and it was not bad at all. there's just so much to do out there.
