Thx, will try it tonight with my Korean buddies in Korea. What I find funny too is the fact that they throw away the top of the soju because of "bad chemicals" or whatev.

We often do it, it's very fun. The best part is the possibility to "fuck" with the other players by being bold and pouring in a lot of Soju in so that they won't be able to pour without sinking it before it's your turn again. Also great fun to hit the table with your feet etc to make the glas sink sooner.
It depends on having good glasses though so it isn't too easy to "calculate" how much soju you can pour.

Man, this looks like a great drinking game. I'll have to keep it in mind for something I want to try next time there's a party.

Some Filipinos do that too with rum. Although I'm not sure of the exact reason.

Not sure about soju, but certain kinds of rum/port have a condensed yeast at the top of the barrel in order to achieve a certain flavor. Although they are all filtered out, I can understand why some people have this misinformed superstition.

us poor folk do that with natty and vlad. surprisingly they mix kinda well together.
Ive never heard of it being called depth charge or titanic though I like those names a lot better

I played a variation of this yesterday. I had a 4oz casadorez glass and a regular shot glass sort of fit in it so we used that. And we I put like 2oz of beer in the casa cup and then poured stoli or whatever people wanted into the shot glass. It never went past like 4 people though.
