You know, I actually kind of agree with the original post, except instead of "hate", I'm just irritated when people write a signature in their post. I mean, first of all, you already have a signature, you know, the one below all your posts? Second of all, is it really necessary to be that formal? Think about it - I believe it's good to be polite, but being overly-formal comes off as pretentious and, in some cases, condescending. I think that defeats the purpose of being polite, which is to be respectful of people.

Since all posts begin with your name, it's redundant. I don't think it's overly formal or anything.

I want the clip "It's impractical and unnecessary!" from System Shock 2 to play whenever someone tries to end their post with their username.

If a post is long enough though, maybe you can fool people. That would be cool.
