As most of you know, comedy central is a cable network which features, the daily show, the colbert report, and southpark. These are all funny shows (most of the time at least), and are appropriately placed on comedy central. The rest of the shows on comedy central are not funny.
If you've been around tl a while, you are probably thinking, wow, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
You should look at it a different way: the rest of the shows on comedy central are so terrible and so "anti-funny" that they are even worse than me. I won't try to explain why they aren't funny. If you don't already know it, you should flip on comedy central. Watch the daily show, watch the colbert report, and watch southpark. They might be hit or miss, but at least at times they are hilarious. In the meantime watch the commercials for all the other shows they are pushing. I honestly can't tell who their demographic is even supposed to be. It's just god awful.
I must admit, I don't regularly watch their other shows... so it's possible the commercials are just awful representations of what the shows are like. The stuff I have seen, however, supports my hypothesis (in my mind) 100%.
I think they can safely rename the network to "Daily Report Park Plus Shit."
Who watches the rest of this junk? Or do they survive solely on income from the success of the key three?

Yeah I agree 100%. I do know some people into that kind of comedy so they certainly exist, but I try not to talk to them much in general

Isn't tosh . 0 on cc?
If not, disregared my post.
If it is, I have a couple friends who like tosh . 0. Also you shouldn't start to hate on something until AFTER youve tried it. Also new shows are full of new and INEXPERIENCED comedians who want to make it big. They are on CC and they got this chance now. Not saying everyone who is gonna be good has to below up immediately, but you gotta give them time to blossom.

Tosh.0 and Comedy Central Presents [insert comedian] are both decently funny.

If I have say, beaten the game and done a couple of sidequests then I have every right to hate on it... I don't need to have beaten every monster in the arena through nemesis before it is permissible for me to hate on it (although 'hate on it' might be a bit strong).
I guess the question is whether or not I have given it a fair chance. As I said I have only seen a few shows outside of the key three, but I've seen tons of commercials (am I really going to watch dozen of episodes of shows I can't stand?). The only way comedy central's other stuff is good is if the commercials completely misrepresent them almost every time, which is actually a real possibility, I'll admit.

I don't watch TV, I torrent all my shows so when I want to watch something, I have to make the conscious decision to torrent it and that pretty much forces me to give it a fair outlook.
I also don't watch commercials anymore too lol

i don't watch much tv at all anymore, but i love the stand-up on there and i'll watch tosh if it's on. i don't watch much of the other stuff on there besides the big ones you mentioned, but i've heard mixed reviews so i can't assume it's all bad

Well I wouldn't say I'm all riled up about it. Certainly, nobody forces me to watch the other shows (and I generally don't watch them). I often watch the daily show and colbert report live and I don't think I have a way to bypass the commercials other than to try not to pay attention to them (which often happens).
The purpose of this thread isn't: why is comedy central making my life worse? It is: what is up with comedy central?

Well, they are just branching out into different areas of humor, it's gonna be a hit or miss for some people and they can't please everyone, but it is a smart business model and then after something prooves successful, just continue the show on for more than a season and BOOM here comes the $$$

As a couple of others have said, comedy central presents can be really funny at times if you give the comedian a chance. Not all the comedians are golden, but a hell of a lot of them give a pretty decent effort.
Comedy Central tries to take the more successful comedians and give them shows for hopes of hitting another Chappelle show, but they generally fail. While I don't like most of the shows on comedy central, I have no grudge against the channel. It delivers what it promises, and it tries to experiment here and there. While most of their experimental shows are not very good, I do like that they give comedians a shot at their own show.
I don't think Comedy Central really deserves much flak compared to what other cable networks deliver (MTV, Discovery, History, etc.). They are least trying to stick with their roots and keep standup alive.
EDIT: typo

This isn't news. Most comedy of any tv show is terrible, as most things are actually. 90% or more is crap just trying to cash in on the fad or style or copy or fill in the gaps between the other programming or releases. I personally do not even find those news/mockery/comedy shows to be funny either. And southpark is pretty good but I don't usually ever watch it.
Imho, internet webseries are starting to come into mainstream a lot more these days. There is pioneer stuff happening more often now with that Blue show on YT, and other stuff releasing entire seasons directly to netflix that you can watch at your leisure. That is the future. Tv sucks. I only ever watch stuff on PC-hdmi cabl to bigscreen.
Micronesia, workaholics is only funny if you smoke weed/party all the time. You won't find it funny, as I didn't. One glaringly bad plothole about the show that I just find to be breaking the suspension of disbelief is that fact that they barely work their shitty low paying job that relies on sales commissions and they have a nice house, tons of shit, and extra cash to be throwing around all the time. I dunno, maybe that's just me, but it's too unrealistic; as the characters are.

you should at least let some one go into a series with an open-mind instead of calling everyone who watches it a brainless pothead

I think the first two seasons of Workaholics have a lot of really good dialogue that anyone who grew up during the late 80s and 90s could appreciate (Family Double Dare anyone?). The third season is pretty bad though, I gotta say, as for most of what is on the channel. Anthony Jeselnik is really funny, and I think he's got a new show coming out that might be pretty good.

What? Did you even read my post?

But comedy central does suck

Jeselnik Offensive is funny. Workaholics season 1-2 was good but the lastest one is quite bad. Comedy Central presents [insert comedian name] is a hit or miss. Roast of [Insert celebrity name] are generally great. Futurama is amazing. It also HAD Dave Chapelle show. +the 3 shows you like.... comedy central is quite decent and no where does it suck like many people make it out to be. The channel we should all shit on is MTV... I mean come on, Jersey shore, Teen pregnancy, etc.

Though I'll admit that teen moms might have been the best worst idea for a TV show ever. Comedy central is kinda eh. They have some great shows like Micro mentioned, but after that they have a lot of things that are more miss than hit. Most times I'll watch one and just never feel the need to watch it again. I don't watch TV much though, so I could just be at fault for having too small a sample size to make up my mind.

They just need to stop showing unfunny movies like White Chicks.
Then they need to do the following:
- Roast of Jay Leno (Cuz he's an asshole) - Get the rights to show Parks & Recreation - Create a new season of The Sarah Silverman Program - Get the guys from MST3K to make a new show - Get some old SNL episodes, you know, the ones with Christopher Walken - Put the axe to Ugly Americans, just kill that show already, nobody wants it - Show the Louis C.K. show "Louie" - Wilfred - The Simpsons - KILL DANIEL TOSH WITH A FLAMETHROWER - Stop trying to copy off the success of Southpark by introducing "controversial" cartoons that just deal with the same over-used formula of shock-humor (I use this term loosely, because my grandma probably wouldn't even be shocked by this stuff) and "omg, cartoon characters that cuss omg", and "let's have an episode that addresses the issue of homosexuality BECAUSE IT'S NEVER BEEN FUCKING DONE BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!."
If you want to be controversial and funny, here are some ideas:
Edit: I was going to post this idea, but I have a feeling that it might not be a good idea. I really had an idea, but after typing a paragraph of stuff, I just was like "What the fuck did I just write?" and deleted it. Sorry. I guess my ideas are just too hot for TV.

Comedy is always hit or miss. The same comedian might get roaring laughter in one venue and get boo'd out of the next.
That said, Here's my ratings:
Top tier: Colbert report
Good Tier: Daily Show South Park Tosh.0 Brickleberry
OK Tier: Workaholics It's always sunny
Crap tier: pretty much the rest, occasionally a special production of standup or a roast escapes this
You also have to accept that their demographic is generally going to be young people who smoke weed and drink. If you're not that demographic, well, tough shit.

THE KROLL SHOW MAKES ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF
and the Jeselnik Offensive is SOOOOOOO staged, i've watched a few episodes and i haven't laughed once.

I cannot stand Sarah Silverman. I don't know many people who do like her either. O_O I thought Comedy Central does have Louie? Anyway, a lot of guys posted some good one's already. I think micro is cherry picking at most of their cartoon offerings. There was one cartoon I was introduced too that I thought had potential but I think it only lasted one season. It was called something High. It had Cleopatra, young Gandhi, Kennedy and some other shit.
