Its been a while since my last blog. Life has just been so busy recently with studying, projects, and watching SC2. HoTS came out during my spring break which was so exciting!
I beat the campaign fairly quickly on brutal. The HoTS campaign was wayyy to easy on brutal compared to WoL. I played WoL campaign back in december and boy was that difficult. Many of the missions required several tries before beating them, however only one mission required a second try for me in HoTS. The story line was much more interesting in HoTS though and I was just happy to play it. I enjoyed the game very much and was super excited at release. The ending was wayyy to cheesy though =(
I generally only ladder on the weekends, but HoTS has just been so much fun that I ladder whenever I have free time! After 2 years of playing Starcraft I finally reached Masters league! I jumped out of my chair in joy after I saw the little icon. I was overjoyed to say the least. There are so many interesting strategies protoss can do right now that I just want to play nonstop. Reaching masters was just so awesome.
I generally dont whine about balance and I wont do that here either but I would like to talk about some issues in the game from my point of view. Protoss simply has recieved no new ground units. This has resulted in a generally same game plan in PvT. The only difference is that protoss needs to be more wary of drops and they can be more greedy due to the MSC. I hope they give protoss more ground options because that part of the game has not changed at all. The only new army composition protoss has recieved is mass air. VoidRays are clearly too powerful right now ( I love them but holy shit they kill everything when combined with storm) Overall I feel the game is very similar and the new units are not giving the game a brand new way to play. Terran still play the same overall in TvP. Zergs have some pretty cool strategies in ZvP besides the super late game dominance of protoss. Overall the expansion is awesome but the new units are not completely game changing.
I just wanted to make this blog because I'm so happy for finally reaching Masters!
Ladder on for Aiur!
