First part of the AAR, covering 1936.
Second part, with the US civil war, in 1937.

Same guys, still alive to bring back United Kingdom !

After being the most opportunistic people during the US Civil War II, Canada is now a big country with a lot of ressources to realise its dream, the reconquest of the UK. Of course, if the syndicalist forces of the world can just disappear, we'll not cry for it, especially since the French Empire wants its territory back too !

Canada - 1938 : Canada and the long term objective : create a top notch fleet

Peace is back in the United States of America, and already their population is complaining on how it's not possible anymore to travel from a part of the country to another. Hey, it's not expecially my fault if the USA are split in four parts now. They should join the almighty Canada if they want to.

Nope.

Official version : Canada spilt too much blood to accept in any way to give back Alaska or Panama to the USA. And we have to consider they failed pretty badly at keeping their country "United". It's way better for us and for the newly free population to stay under our flag.

Unofficial version : After losing something like 4 interceptors and 0 division, no one in the government thinks USA has what it takes to reclaim its former glory. And with snow and sand, tourism will be the second most profitable economic field of the Canada.
Behind heavy industry, obviously.

Commune of France is struggling ?
To be honest, Socialist Italy is worthless, they need to call Union of Britain if they want to succeed. Except Union of Britain isn't interested to go to war and by "joining the fight", they're hiding themselves so hard Germany seems unable to see them.
CNT-FAI in Spain is on the verge of death too. March 1938 is the bane of Evil Communism, and my scientists are still trying to upgrade the canadian fleet. I hope they'll not finish it too late.

Not the best idea ever in my opinion.
Hey France, you just release friendly countries, I'm aware of that, but you should have waited peace for that, they don't have any army and are right in the German frontline.

Commune of France's plan is to lose so quickly we can't give the country back to our allies.

We're opening the Pandora's Box : Diplomacy !

If we want to do something in Europe in 1938, we'll have to do it quickly, it seems like the Mitteleuropa alliance is going a little bit too deep into the syndicalist lines.
Without waiting for us !
Those on-going transport ships are based on a new prototype that made them shiny and reliable. Maybe they also are faster but if we want to give a good impression in Europe, we have to polish our look.

Welcome in the Entente, Russia ! You'll see, no one wants more than us peace in the world and babies to run safely everywhere without walking on landmines. Sir, it's not Rus... And you can count on us to protect you even more against the Axis of Evil Communism. Because remember who helped you during your civil war ? Canada, and Japan too, but let's forget about Japan.

I told you, France. Still surprising it took three months for Germany to do it.

Almost half of 1938 and the transport ships are finished!
The canadian army is ready to overwhelm Europe. Since Union of Britain isn't on any war at the moment, our old but still numerous fleet is more than enough to fight against Socialist Italy and Commune of France.
21 divisions, let's hope it will be more than enough to salvage as much provinces as we can.

Set sail to French Empire!
Louis Napoleon will be glad to help us. Some rumors say he built his main residency with sand.

So much progress made in the Navy in only 9 months.
Canadian Fleet in construction is worth almost 200 industrial capacity, with the capital ships to be completed in 1941... In three years, we'll have all we need to invade properly the main island of England. Let's hope Irlande will be an ally since then.
Or French Empire will have France back into its pocket.

Canada - 1938 : First foot in Europe

Target n°1, Italy, quickly while Commune of France still holds its ground.

Even with a 21-divisions army only, Italy is outnumbered.
Considering Sicile is already ours, the only provinces to capture to annex the Social Republic are Taranto, Salerno and the capital with so many troops on it it's impossible to read its name. With Salerno and Potenza under our control, the italian army can just delay the inevitable.

Uh oh. Paris has fallen under german hands.
And since Commune of France doesn't have any ally, it smells like game over.

But Canada won its war first.

What do we do with the now annexed Social Republic of Italy ?
Our diplomatic staff gives three solutions :
- Liberate the country but under our control. Meh, liberate syndicalists ?
- Give it to the other Italy. Those guys don't want to ally with us, screw them.
- Keep control of the country. And deal with the rebels, no way.

Until Edward gave us exactly what we needed, a brilliant idea. It's time to bring back one of the ancient competitor of the Victorian United Kingdom : Kingdom of the Two Siciles. With one stone, we have a new ally, no worry about rebels and we teach an history lesson to the world.

Speaking of allies, another one on the potential list, and closer to England.

Canada - 1938 : Commune of France, the last stand

The war is going from bad to worse for the remnant of the Communism Army - except if you count Union of Britain as an "army" - and if Canada wants to salvage anything, it's now or never. Without Paris, there's no way we can gain that much of France. Sadly, it's a huge blow for the French Empire, especially when the German Empire acquires it.

NOW, this is bad.
After losing one entire year at giving the Russian Empire money to form an alliance, they just went for the one that never do nothing : Germany. The Canadian staff is pretty much pissed about it. We all know the germans loved to play "Democracy", but now they're in an actual war, I'm afraid they want to unify Europe once again, especially with Russia to back them up.
Being a dick always pays.

This was so easy no one took a picture. No french force to defend the south of the country.
The army is so split we can somewhat capture a third of the french provinces.

Something like that.

That was unexpected.
It seems like playing with the destiny of the Two Siciles gave Germany a stupid idea with Britanny and Normandy. Everyone feels like playing with the ex-communist forces.

Well, not everyone, Spain was too angry to be merciful with the remnants of the CNT-FAI. Carlist Spain has a better time since they have a truce with the Kingdom of Spain.

At least, someone is still fighting the German oppression !
Props to Japan and the Mongolian Empire. Their balls are as big as the shit they're into.

Scandinavia imo.
Germany is doing work in europe and the neutrals won't be as neutral soon enough. You need to make the first move.
Asia sounds nice but you can go there later I guess. Scandinavia is urgent business.

You'll probably need more manpower and IC to take on Ger + Russia. You'll probably also need a second front, preferably one with mountains/hills/forests/swamps so you can spread out and still hold the line. Those two countries can concentrate about 200 divisions against you...

True. The thing is, there isn't that many neutrals in Europe worth going for it, since most of them are too close from Germany, and too far from any help. Especially in a full war. Scandinavia is decent as long as it helps with UoB.

This is Darkest Hour, a stand alone of Hearts of Iron II, and I play with the mod "Kaiserreich". :p
It's a story where Germany won World War I and things went differently from that.
I really like the fact almost all countries are playable, contrary to a classic WW2.

200 divisions is an optimistic estimation to be honest. :p
Manpower is clearly something I need and the reason I keep USA. IC isn't that bad, more factories will be build as soon as my production list begins to stop produce so many boats. I need to watch french provinces and build some forts on the best provinces (rivers/cities/mountain), then find another front.
