I think the award ceremonies for NASL & IPL are the best. They both give off this feeling accomplishment and over-the-top celebration! On February 08 2013 07:25 nohbrows wrote: (Hopefully this question hasn't been asked yet), What do you think is the major difference between Esports Journalism and Sports Journalism? Do you even think there is a difference, and if so, what do you think are the lessons that can be learned from traditional sports media (anything from casting to reporting to the way media handles controversy)? Legitimacy and relationships. There is a difference but its because E-Sports has no prospered and thus the sustainable method for news sites to remain afloat is quite low. This is my fast answer, but in my opinion, with time, E-Sports Journalism will definitely be able to say and do a lot more as the scene grows larger and people become less able to see and know everything that there is to know (among many, many other things that need to blossom). Tough question on education, I would probably substitute things such as Moral and Religion classes (I had those instead of social sciences) with finances and consumer awareness. I would definitely make testing more anonymous to avoid bias from teachers. Did it give you a different outlook of people outside of the internet (when watching tournaments, etc) In some parts, it has made me very bitter. Reddit as well makes me a bit bitter because its unfiltered bluntness. The community is great and it feels much smaller than it really is. It changed me in that it accepted most of the things I do and at how fast I do (or how much in terms of posting) whereas in the past; I would get a lot of problems with it. I've had to change a lot about myself and I've also learned to filter a lot of what I say rahter than being cynically blunt or heavily sarcastic.
