YO ALL!
It's KiDCa, everyone's favourite BW protoss player. Anyway, TLS has been rolling along and the groups have been selected however with some time off (my group will not play this weekend) and some busy school scheduling I have not been playing BW lately and not streaming as a result. (Don't worry this will change next week)
Today I am just writing about an author who needs everyone's help for an award as a new author. This will help them get the recognition that he deserves and hopefully propel his career a bit.
Story can be found : http://www.wattpad.com/story/2017471-eternal-dreams-part-1-the-curse-of-memories
***IF you are feeling like helping out only*** The voting system is: http://www.wattpad.com/watty 1) Go to "Fantasy" on the left 2) Scroll down to "Hidden Gems" at the bottom after you've selected "Fantasy" 3) Vote: "Eternal Dreams" by the InseperableSIX [Note: You can vote once per browser if you are feeling generous, edit: apparently you can just delete cookies and re-vote... This system seems quite easily abused ^^]
Anyway this would be much appreciated to anyone who feels like contributing.
Edit: this wasn't meant to be any vote pleading, just to notify people about a new writer who I decided to help get some recognition. Only vote if you feel that you enjoyed it.

Interesting, I'll vote after reading it first I guess :p It's not urgent right?

Voted, but I think TL doesn't allow voting thread?

You are allowed if you can control 5 shuttles reaver drop madness while holding one base versus 10 zerg bases, I hope.

This is a horrible way to get votes for one's writing. Shame on you.

I didn't know that, let me edit...

This isn't networking. It's blindly begging people to give charity votes and works about as well as begging on the street.

If people want to help him, they will. If not, they won't. No need to argue about the why's or how's (in his blog, anyway), no need to be belligerent. This isn't some famous YouTuber abusing masses of ravenous fanbois to gain a massive, undeserved advantage in some form of internet poll / popularity contest. Nor is this some bot / spammer cluttering our forum in hopes someone will bite the bait. It's just a guy asking for a bit of help in a community where people perceive him as a pretty cool guy (see the above posts about his protoss play).
You have literally -nothing- to gain from trying to shoot him down. You're wasting his time, my time, your own time and you won't change anything.
You have my vote OP.

The very first sentence of this dudes story is poorly written. I think I'll save myself the trouble.
"When you woke up from your dreams this morning, did you ever think you would wish they lasted forever?"

He is begging for votes in a contest that is supposed to be based on the merits of the story, not how many people he can beg for votes. It is an attempt at destroying the purpose of the contest. If you can't see how that's wrong and stupid, I feel sorry for you.

I'm sorry you feel that way, most of the time you should give it more than a sentence though... just sayin'

I read more than one sentence. I stopped when the writer said "he asked this question without any malice, without any passion, without any heart" and then followed it with the brilliant mirrored description of "I asked this question with malice, with passion, and with heart." I knew then that this writer was far beyond my ken, attaining a level of literary excellence best left to the likes of PhD's and random TLers who are happy to autovote people who don't deserve to win.

This is a good way to draw eyes to a story, but the story needs a lot of work.
|
Seems pretty bad so far. He needs to fix that opening paragraph as soon as possible.
If I happen to read some of the other entries and think that they're worse, I'll vote for it. Considering that there's a Harry Potter OC fanfic on the front page of the fantasy awards section, that's entirely possible.

16 posts and no allusion to Klazart? For shame !
