Then you add another beat and all these layers are sounding pretty good at around 1:30. As a listener of "dance music" I begin to expect the song to just stop in its tracks and change the song completely to a beat that is overwhelmingly ferocious and wild. This never happened. Kind of disappointing. I duno.. I guess its pretty good.. If I were to give you a tip (lol i've never made a song but I listen well) I'd say add more contrast and diversity. You build oen constant sound but the good stuff kind of uses the base sounds of a song to travel around. Also if you're not into dance music.. Have you listened to Boards of Canada? pretty sure they mastered the rhythmic sound scapey stuff you were going for(yeah that sounds pretentious and it is cuz i have no idea about the history/genres of electronic music) | ||

The lack of a clear motif really hurts, there's nothing about the song you can identify with. It's a very standard beat laid on top of what essentially comes to "noise" since your melody is SUPER SOFT and has a bunch of other shit playing over it. The best way to get better at fl studio is to just explore it for hours and hours.... do not hesitate to find cool plugins and mess around with them and you also want to be building your own sound library (sound effects, instruments etc) | ||
