Someone else does this, and I kind of like it, so here's a few songs I've been enjoying lately:

Settle Down by No Doubt

Haven't listened to a TON of No Doubt, but I like this song a lot. Reggae has been really good to me lately, and Gwen Stefani's voice is amazing.

Ascent of Stan by Ben Folds

A song about a man who use to curse those above him then he became one of them. I think everyone can relate to this song. Ben Folds is also an amazing songwriter. I could be wrong here, but I believe he played every instrument on the recordings of his music. He's basicallly the next Elton John, but cooler.

Look Away - The Dear Hunter

Casey Crecenzo is an amazing musician in my opinion. He also has a way with words and using them in his music. This song in particular makes great use what I call the "Fiddler" rhythm - If you have ever heard of Fiddler On the Roof, you would have heard the song "If I were a rich man" The rhythm to that song is really similar to this song, and I use it as a basis to show that particular rhythm. If you're a theory nerd and need me to explain it in theory, you're going to have to wait - But I'm sure any theory nerds will understand what I mean anyway, haha.
