Today was Yom Kippur. Since my college is a jewish college, we ended up having this day off from classes. I was not planning on writing a blog today, but alas I find myself awake at 12:07A.M. thursday morning here nonetheless.
To be honest, I didn't even want to be up past 11:30. My plan was to get some rest because I am sick. Well, I have been lying in bed for the past hour trying to sleep, but cant. My room mate. He has a lamp on his desk that lights up the whole room while he looks at facebook on his laptop. His phone is NEVER EVER ON SILENT. Everytime he gets a facebook notification, a "pikachu" goes off. He is a pokemon fan and has that as a notification audible.....
It gets better. He is up right now at midnight trying to find a textbook of his for an assignment due the next day. We had a jewish holiday today and he is not jewish. This essentially means that he gets a free day in which he can do whatever he wants. Of course, he chooses to procrastinate until the fucking night so he can do homework, piss me off, and cut into my sleep time!!!!
I am mostly afraid to ask him to turn off the lamp because if he says no, I will probably break his "glasses" that he wears with no lenses and then punch him in the stomach or something. I am afraid that is what is going to happen because if the lamp is not off, i am there in my bed thinking about the lamp being on and why it is on and why it isn't off.....it might drive one insane
The best part about it is after I do finally go to sleep and wake up in the morning, I wake up to the smell of his fucking body odor. I am going to start keeping track of if he takes a shower or not by feeling his towel at different times of the day to see possible times he takes a shower. I am 85% sure right now that he hasn't showered in a couple days though because he is almost never here and when he is, he never showers because he is on facebook and then goes to sleep with the tv on (not annoying at all right durp durp durp). Anyways, my point is he smells bad. It takes about 5 hours to air out the room each day so that the smell is gone by the evening, in which the process is repeated all over again.
I am also fucking sick. I have a congested nose and my throat is feeling a bit sore which blows. Well, I have been here for about 10 minutes typing out this blog and looking at my room mates effeciency, he has been gone for about 15 minutes to do god knows what. Maybe I will get some sleep tonight, maybe not.
Also FLASH IN GSL = SICK

Ok buddy. You're in college. You're an adult. Fucking TALK to him about issues you have. He will never change if you don't tell him you have a problem with it.

We had a little talk and basically he wants to get a different room mate (i agree) and he's not sleeping here tonight (thank god). I was going to just play sc2 until i fucking passed out but now I can actually get some sleep.
BTW I gave him a "heads up" bout my anger problems and about how having the light on while Im sick makes me a bit cranky and when I get cranky I can get mad more easily and when I am angry, sometimes things get out of control and I might become a little violent so it might be in his best interest to turn the lamp off..

Well that sounds a bit passive aggressive but at least its communication. Good luck with getting a switch. He didn't offer to change any of his habits?

What Jewish college exists that non-Jews go to? I don't think I've ever heard of this....

There are some colleges that have a very large jewish student body so the entire college observes Jewish holidays. I know Cooper Union is one like that. Plus "Jewish colleges" (I really only know of one, Yeshiva) will accept non-Jewish students into their graduate programs.

Let me make a list of why that is wrong.
1) The hulk is awesome. and doesnt die. and is strong
2) freshman college who is a nerd and a virgin and retarded - I like sc2. I have never had sex. Sometimes I do stupid stuff, but I think it would be hard to say that no one else has ever made a mistake before (big or small)
3) crappy drugs are relevant to the person who is using them. Is it even fair to say that the drugs I buy are "crappy"? Compared to what standard? What drugs are the crappy ones? Why are you assuming that they are crappy when you haven't even seen a picture of them? I don't think they are crappy, but you think they are crappy. Maybe you have a somewhat biased view towards drugs based on a personal experience that makes you look at drugs in a negative way?
4) idk chugging a beer with my mind....it still got all over my shirt so I'm not too sure about that
BTW My room mate DID ask if I was going to turn into the hulk or something if he pissed me off too much in a very sarcastic way. I got a bit pissed off and told him I would break his jaw so he wouldn't be able to talk anymore, then all my problems would be solved!
Anger is a very irrational emotion. I think it's irrationality is what makes it rational in that you can't expect someone who is angry to behave in a rational way that a person with a better temperament would behave.

Ditch that "serious talk" bullshit, this begs for an epic pranking story
If he's got severe BO problems, load up on a bunch of cheap girls' perfume (basically the kind that a hooker would wear) and just spray him like crazy every single day with it while he sleeps.
OR
get a spray bottle, fill it with piss, spray all his stuff with it right before he moves out
as a more practical solution, buy yourself these

and voila most of your problems will be solved

I spent last year in a three person room the same size as my room at home(the two bunk beds left enough room to do pushups and that was it). My one roommate stayed up until 3 every day with his light on, and his laptop shining directly towards me in order to play Maple Story. My other roommate never started his essays until they were due, so he'd be up until 5 typing away(which caused the desk to shake and make a pretty loud bass noise considering my head was inches away from it). We ended up working out a system where we put cardboard up around 1 side of my bed, hung blankets on the other side, and I wore ear plugs. I'm sure your problems are nowhere near as bad and that you can work out a solution yourself.

Remove the wires from your alarm clock's speakers, and jam them into your arm (a single arm, so that the current doesn't hit your heart)
That way whenever your alarm clock "rings" it delivers enough pain to wake you up

I had to have a meeting with the RA and my room mate today. The RA (Residential Advisor) set some ground rules that we are going to follow. But I have a different plan....

Ehm... well that was kind of a problem. My sleep schedule got fucked up really early on in the year. Before we had the system set up I'd go to bed at 1 and get kept until 3 every night(no exaggeration, having 2 lamps on right beside you and a lot of noise it is very hard to go to sleep). So... I slept from 300 until 1400 or so every day. I put the alarm clock right beside my head but apparently I got very good at snoozing it without returning to conciousness or sleeping through it(helped greatly by the ear plugs).

I cannot understand what is going on here exactly. I was very skeptical of the fact that someone can have 20 blog posts that all average 1-1.5 stars. Now I see why.... the dude is having some serious troubles in college. I agree with others you really need to grow up a bit and maybe go see a counselor. It might help you resolve issues on your own instead of blogging about them. Your first instinct should be to work things out with others. Secondly.... why the fuck are you going to a jewish university.
