As far as I can tell, I am one of the smarter people in the room from the kinds of questions asked and what points other people make. I am not saying that they are wrong, I am just saying that their points are a bit one dimensional, which is sort of to be expected.
When I got the chance to discuss, here is what I said.
There are video games where violence is used for justice, or to do good. Games such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings are good examples of this. The main protagonists of these stories commit violent acts (spells and killing stuff). However, in the light of greater good are these violent actions justified.
With that in mind, would it almost be a better idea to allow video games such as these to be given a wider age group that can access these games if they promote violence for defensive purposes or for the cause of the greater good?
I personally would like to see violence portrayed to the public in a morally right point of view. I think as a society, it would be more beneficial to put a bigger emphasis on violent video games based on a more defensive kind of aggression. This way, we do not completely get rid of violence in video games. We simply, as a society, encourage the more ethnic form of violence instead of getting rid of it all together.

whatever i said, this does NOT include sc2. I don't give a fuck if I am blowing up a zerg players base with a nuke and kill 20 drones in the process. Does that make me a serial killer? probably. Does sc2 contribute to the image of violent video games? probably yes. + Show Spoiler +
BUT I FUCKING LOVE STARCRAFT SO IT IS THE ONE EXCEPTION AS THE PERFECT SERIES OF VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES <3
