Im not a fan of apple products, but i thought that the ipod was their best product and it was the way to go in portable music device... but now...
my brother gave me and ipod 32gb touch screen.... and is fucking huge.
this is my 2nd day using it and maybe i dont know all the things it can do but so far i dont like this shit:

1st: is huge
i dont understand how people can walk whit this brick in their pants or wherever ... its gigantic and heavy.. it barely fit in my pockets and i cant sit comfortable. i cant use it at the gym.. so uncomfortable.
2nd: millions of buttons/apps
i want to hear music, i dont want to know the weather, the date or all that things they put in the screen. i dont want a mini pc or smarthphone, i want to listen music ezpz
3rd: cant change music easily
while walking i have to take out that brick press the square, see where the skip song is and press it... its so big that i cant do it with my hand and the ipod in the pocket... also, being touchscreen i cant feel any button so i have to see the ipod to change the song... ><
4rd: its huge
i need my 2 hands to control it... so stupid, one had should be enough but i have a screen so big that both hands are needed

It's best seen as a portable media/game player that happens to play music. Treat it as such cuz it sucks at playing music.

Maybe buy an ipod model that suits your preferences then , instead of just getting one that was clearly designed to be more than just music. And then you complain lol

Looks like what you want is an ipod nano.... so buy an ipod nano, dont buy an ipod touch and then complain that its an ipod touch and not an ipod nano.

I dislike apple products aswell. Try double tapping the home button when the iPod is locked. On iphone it make you able to change songs (only next or previous), change the sound level and stop without having to into itunes. Also many functions can be done via your headset...

Are you a uh...is "little person" the correct honorific? I also have an itouch that I mainly use for music, and I have no problems with putting it in my pocket or using it with one hand. I have 4300 songs on it, not much else. Also, if you have the headphones that come along with it, there should be a little device on the right headphone cord. You can adjust the volume, and fast forward, rewind, skip track, playback, by using a variety of different button presses. Hey, if you hate it, you hate it, but I've had mine for three years now and it's delivered.

u actually don´t need 2 hands to control it unless you have very very small hands.
So if you don´t like it, send it to me, i need a new one :D

Hahaha. That sounds like something completely different. 
I wouldn't complain if I got such a device for free, as much as I hate apple. You can try to make it work, use it for games (like someone above suggested) or maybe sell it on the internet?

IMO the best iPod still is the fith generation. Or you can get the iPod classic (sixth generation) which pretty much is thr same thing but the UI feels a bit clunkier with the extra features.

maybe your pants are too tight. it's really not that big, and it's pretty thin. did you ever have an early generation iPod? now THAT was big.
but if you don't like it, give it back to your brother. or give it to a friend, I'm sure they'll appreciate it if you don't.

Eh personally I almost don't think getting an ipod is ever worth it now of days. If you get an iphone or something like that it is pretty much an ipod except it can text/call/surf the web (assuming you pay for internet) and it's on one device so you can use it for everyone :p.

Pretty much. I gave my old ipod to a cousin, and I am much happier with my android phone.

I would but one of the best apps for learning Chinese (Skritter) is IoS only, and the developers have basically said they don't plan for android because it won't be worth it for them

I think the only reason to buy an iPod touch is if you want to buy the apps. My iPod is pretty much a minigame machine. I use my phone when I want to listen to music
