I'm staying in Rome (about 20km from it actually) and would like some suggestions about what to visit (outside the very popular tourist attractions like the colloseum or vatican), what/where to eat (again, outside the regular overpriced tourist restaurants in the center of rome which have shitty food) and any other suggestions that would make my stay nicer and help me understand the italian culture better (i love seeing people, meeting new people etc.).
Is it true that if you go to any bar with a terrace, if you stay outside you're going to pay extra? That seems rather dumb but so far many people have told me this, instead of having a 1E coffee/juice/smth it's going to cost 5E because i stay outside. Are there any decent terraces where i could chill while having a coffee without being a burden on my wallet?
Also, i'd be more than glad to meet any of you, roman citizens or tourists, that have some time and wanna chit chat at a caffe.

When you stand facing the trevi fountain, go to the left, and you will see a tiny ice cream shop. Don't buy ice cream anywhere but there, it's fucking beast

This advice is so amazing. It makes the ice cream shop owner has 3 Michelin Stars

if you go to a strip club then it is E20 for a beer but you can go outside for a cigarette and buy a beer round at the cornershop that is all

Don't have any particular places that I recall, but just get good shoes. There's a lot of older cobble roads there that are brutal on your feet if you're walking around all day for a few days looking at all the sights.
also, if possible, learn some basic italian and talk to locals. theyre friendly and will recommend you stuff or show you a place. i ended up at some huge dance festival on the river that way. best night out there.

Will do .
I've been checking around today, i saw calcata (old citadel) and was impressed. I'll try to go to the sea side tomorrow, but this night i go hunting for some pizza in rome, at chica bomba - heard it's good and relatively unexpensive .
