For breakfast I eat cereal with milk (not the overly sugared cereal). I might have a protein shake. Late morning I'll have some nuts or a piece of string cheese. Lunch can be any one of a number of things ranging from a deli-style sandwich to a beef and pasta dish to pizza. It could be soup and salad, or almost anything else. In addition to the entree I'll probably have something akin to nuts/cheese again, as well as a small carb (fruit, whole grain roll, or something like that). In the late afternoon I will have a snack; basically 1 serving of any dessert-style item I want. Dinner will be just like lunch except instead of the nut/cheese item I'd have a second carb. After dinner I have another dessert item.

You sure love them fruits... strawberries for dinner? o_O;;

Breakfast: cereal (I'm lazy)
Lunch: at work, cafeteria daily special (usually meat + veggies + potato or rice)
Dinner: rice + some kind of meat (usually chicken or beef) + salad

I guess I eat fairly standard. I'm 150lbs btw (68kg)

If you eat like a little girl my guess is you kinda live like a little girl. Work out more and your body will ask for more (not watermelons).

I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with that meal plan. Sounds healthier than most tbh. Though I'd probably be hungry if that's all I ate for dinner. If you want to gain weight, eat more food.... Change dinner to a pound of meat/fish with some healthy carb source (ie: yams or whole grain pasta maybe?) with a healthy helping of vegtables.

That lunch especially sounds pretty good.

Myself, I generally do:

Breakfast: ceeral w/ milk or eggs

Lunch: sandwich w/ an apple or some carrots and milk

Dinner: chicken/beef/fish with potato/pasta/rice with a vegtable

I just am lazy and keep it pretty simple. Especially since I keep living in places for < 6 months so I shop pretty short-term.

If you want to gain weight, that's not quite what you should be eating. Protein and exercise is a good start. If you're a vegetarian, then beans and stuff will be your protein. But don't throw away the fruits/veggies, either.

Or just chug like 10 mountain dews a day, you'll gain weight no prob haha. You'll also die, though.

lol watermelon, how does that fill anyone up?!

I usually wake up by hunger at like 4 or 5am -_- so i always eat like 2 breakfasts, during the summer anyways when i got the time.

I'm sorta weird Breakfast: oatmeal with skim milk + peanut butter + 1/2 scoop protein shake all in one mixed together, it's delicious.
I first put oatmeal and skim milk in a bowl, microwave for 1min 30seconds, then mix in peanut butter/protein powder, the peanut butter just melts it's amazing

I usually lift in the morning after my first breakfast, after i lift i usually have 1 1/2 cup of skim milk with 1 1/2 scoop protein powder.

Second breakfast: 3 eggs whole eggs with 2 slices of bread. If i'm hungry, i'll also eat a bowl of cereal. I also supplment with vit. C vit. E and fish oil. Vit C/E for breakfast only. Fish oil 3 times a day once after breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Usually at this time i bike or swim.

lunch: I usually have a large chicken breast with some vegetables, maybe some rice or some beans as well.

snack before dinner, i always get hungry and i eat a couple handful of almonds

after my snack i usually go running

dinner: it's usually like like sometimes chicken breasts or tuna with vegies sometimes with rice or some extra peas.

after-dinner snack- handful of almonds skim milk with protein shake.

i'm 145-148lbs 5'8.

Your lunch looks good. Overall i'd say less fruit; more veg and grains. Especially for dinner. Maybe also consider not having red wine with every meal

hmm,.,

Oatmeal for breakfeast

A couple of chicken legs for lunch..

And a whole chicken for dinner..

And some breakerbreads as an evening snack..

This guy was pretty harsh, but ya, there's no way you can go to the gym and eat like that. Your body will be all kinds of upset about it.

I'm not saying you can't get away with a day of eating like that, but even with the large portions, that's not enough calories and certainly not enough protein to sustain decent muscle mass.

This is what I usually eat:

Breakfast: Milk and biscuits during winter, or a toast and orange juice during summer.
Luch: Pasta and some fruits.
Dinner: either meat or fish ( not both ), some vegetables and fruits.

protip: don't eat pasta during dinner. It will make you fat

Hey, at least when you move out to Thailand, the food there is so cheap compared to Europe so that you can comfortably, or even encouraged, to eat out everyday.

Keep the chicken breast, beans, fish, cottage cheese, turkey (actually go nuts with the poultry). Eat about 300cal more than your daily requirements and you should bulk (provided you lift weights) without gaining too much fat.

But yeah how do you survive on that breakfast, if you work out your stomach is a monster in the morning and probably can eat double of what most people have for dinner.

If you really want to put on weight, try swallowing several of the watermelon seeds and some "Miracle Grow"

You can get it at your local home improvement store. A watermelon plant will begin growing in your stomach and some watermelons can get upwards of 15 pounds before harvest!

Hope this helped!

I'm 6'0'' 205lbs currently going to the gym 5-6 times per week (3 days on, 1 off) trying to cut down to ~185lbs and then bulk back up to ~195lbs. This is my diet.

I work 8am-5pm so my eating schedule is based around my work.

7:30am
Protein Shake

8:30am
2 Light Yogurts at the office.

10:30am
~1cup organic dried oats with dried blueberries (kind of like a loose granola, you eat it raw)

12:30pm
grilled chicken breast with side of fruit from office cafe.

2:30pm
~1cup organic dried oats with blueberries or 14 raw organic almonds

5:30pm
gym+protein shake

6:30pm
grilled chicken breast + vegetable side. I generally do artichoke, broccoli or garden peas.

10:30pm
Bed time, protein shake.

I've been doing exactly this for ~1 month so far. I know it's not glamourous and many people would get bored. However, I find the most success when cutting or bulking to follow a super strict diet. I basically pretend im a robot and this is what I need to stay turned on. Food stops becoming a pleasure seeking activity and more a refueling. I actually love the taste of everything I'm eating too so it's not so bad. With this diet you get ~190g protein so make sure you're working out or the protein will just convert to fat.

I won't get into my gym routine and bore everyone but generally its, day 1 arms, day 2 legs/core(abs), day 3 chest/back, day 4 off. Then just repeat that cycle, you end up at the gym 5-6 times per week.

Ok guys thanks for the tips! Eating nuts between meals seems to be a good idea! This might sound wrong, but I LOVE NUTS! Hahaha!

I actually do workout The problem is that I don't get very hungry even after working out. I've been like this since I was a kid, have easy to forget about my hunger.

I think that might be normal, some say that exercise is a appetite suprressant, it never was for me, but idk i guess it is for some people :o.

Me being the good stereotypical chinese boy I am, rice soup for breakfast (with this sprout thingies I don't know what they are called).

Lunch is rice, with some kind of meat and veggie. Sometimes I'll have like a pizza or pasta.

Dinner is basically the same thing, minus the pizza.

typical weekday

breakfast:
1L of milk
1 cup of coffee
2 onigiri (rice and random fish)

lunch:
restaurants near work, typically I aim for lots of protein, but rice is sort of unavoidable
Probably 200-400g of chicken/pork/beef, and 100g of rice, and random veggies depending on the restaurant

dinner:
I try to cook at home, so probably 300g - 500g of beef, and random veggies

two protein shakes during the day mixed with whole milk

typical weekend

breakfast:
200g - 400g of fish, pan fried (variety varies from salmon, to snapper, to anything really)
2 scrambled eggs with veggies

lunch:
I get lazy here, so probably a box of sushi and a box of sashimi, or a piece of prepared fish like grilled unagi

dinner:
either 300g of japanese steak or w/e soup that I make with pork or beef.

6:30pm
grilled chicken breast + vegetable side.

Damn chest/back on one day... that must take forever, what about shoulders? How long do u stay in gym per session i'm just curious.

I'm generally at the gym between 1h-1h45m depending on what I'm doing that day. Chest/Back days are definitely brutal because you're so sore everywhere lol. Shoulders are most of the time fit in during arm day or chest/back day (believe it or not). My actual lifting routine is similarly planned out like my diet but didn't feel it was threadworthy to type it all out heh. The only thing I don't like about my current lifting situation is im very machine reliant. I go to the gym with my girlfriend and she's a tiny fit thing, like 5'3'' 113lbs and isn't comfortable spotting for me. Couple this with that fact that I'm an awkward penguin and don't like to talk to strangers, I don't get to do much in the way of free weights. I feel I still get a great workout just whoring the machines but I know it could probably be better with traditionally free weights for some excersises.

I'm from the netherlands, so I have bread and cheese for breakfast/lunch, and then potatoes/rice + veggies and meat for dinner.

I find the lunches that you guys have very weird - two hot meals in one day? wtf?

Oh, I should also mention water is very important. I drink 32oz of water at 1030, 1230 and 230 every day with my 'snacks' and lunch in my meal chart above. Add in the 8-10oz of water per protein shake (3 a day) I'm getting, a lot of water! :D

You know what's even weirder? How someone can eat a hot meal during work breaks, unless they went out during their break, but that would cost a fortune after a while, I suppose :s

lunch isnt very different from dinner here in the states, only real exception would be if you're eating a cold sandwich or something

Having a hot meal twice a day or even three times is not that weird in some countries. In Asia a lot of people still have their traditional breakfast which is a hot meal, so they have three hot meals a day. I know quite a lot of people who would frown upon having a cold meal

This is my food of choice every day:

Morning and early afternoon (about 6/8 breadslices a day with butter and peanut butter, Heinz sandwich spread or cheese), milk about 2 apples or oranges.

For dinner:
Any of those, and usually mixed: Beans/Brocolli/cabbage/cauliflower/carrots/spinnach/brussel sprouts/
Meat (substitutes) and tofu:
And: rice/potatoes/pasta or something like it

Afterwards a big bowl of fat free yogurt.

In the evening: unsalted regular/cashew nuts or anything like that.

About 6/8 glasses of different types of green tea throughout the day and carbonated water.

My tip to you: go slow on getting used to more solid foods, which are usually not as flavorful as fruits, because you seem to have developed a liking for very strong/sweet flavor.

my breakfast has a pretty big range of food.
sometimes it's none at all
sometiems it's just a bowl of cereal
other times it's hasbrowns+sausage+bacon+grits

Lunch, is usually something simple, like corndog, sandwich, hamburger etc etc.

dinner, is w.e, pasta is usually a go-to choice for me.

late night snack is usually fruit of some sort.

How do you not starve on that diet O.o? It looks fucking delicious though.

I've had weight drop issues too, I've been trying to do 300 cal's more than my daily requirements like Yandere said and it's working out great, if you don't work out I would suggest raising your calories per day and see how it goes. Also I'm no food experts but that doesn't look like a super healthy diet. (I could be wrong I am not knowledgeable on this)

Edit: peacenl repping typical dutch food . Soo different from other countries. I wonder if they would be happy with our typical lunch/breakfast.

I don't know why you think a girl doesn't need to eat a proper breakfast or dinner, but basically you need a more substantial breakfast and dinner. Fruit is good in the morning, but get something else with it like eggs for protien, or some grains like bread or cereal. For dinner you can't just eat a bowl of strawberries with yogurt... That is just dessert. Make a veggie (like corn or peas), a meat if you want, something weighty like potatoes. Well that's the simple way to do it. There's lots of interesting food you can make for dinner just looking up recipes online, but if you're lazy you can boil frozen corn, bake a potato, and fry some meat. Or make a stir fry with beef strips, and whatever you want...

In my experience one of the greatest joys of the girls I've known is food (actually guys like food too. Weiiiird). So if you wanna eat like a girl, you're gonna need more than a couple fruits.

(well honestly, it's not unusual to have a small dinner, but if you do that you need a big breakfast and a giant lunch. And you ought to have a reason for it, like you're a farmer)

wow reading these posts you guys look anorexic=> breakfast: EGGS+HAM omelette + sour dough multigrain toast+ Glass of orange juice
snacks: carrots/cucumber/yogurt+strawberry+nuts+banana+black berry+blueberry // pita + hummus // etc
Lunch: Chicken sandwich, lettuce tomato, pickle, radish, etc + Glass of milk
snacks: same as before, sometimes muffins, salad, etc
Dinner: Steak + potatoes // pasta // Chicken stir fry
Snacks: (see before and yeah I snack all day)

I run 10-15km a day (10km @ 36 min), used to work out but haven't in a couple of months but I weigh 150 still, 5'11

Since I'm living in germany and the bread here is awesome I eat it almost everyday for dinner, and sometimes for breakfast too.

for lunch I like rice+vegetables+fish/meat

In between I eat some fruits and drink green tea. <3

The trick to the arrangement is to imagine that you're arranging it for a girl that you like a lot. When you're done, you leave the room and come back and act surprised "Wow, thats a nice arranged dinner for me!!!".

I actually do that Forever alone...

In America I find that a lot of people eat huge breakfasts. Not that I mind; I love the whole continental breakfast deal, but that's 'cause I only eat two meals a day (plus maybe one "snack" between those two, I have like no time in between classes and work), so when I still had a dining plan, I stuffed myself during breakfast and didn't eat anything except maybe a soup until dinner. I think in places outside NA, breakfast is usually a lighter affair.

I'm eating so slim these days 'cause of apartment life and being unable to cook anything...

Brunch: pasta or PB&J or cereal+milk or all of the above.
Dinner: pasta or rice+whatever-is-lying-around, usu. canned veggies, pre-cooked chicken (don't trust myself cooking meat), or that stringed pork you can buy at Chinese supermarkets ... dunno what it's called in English.

I got two free dinners this week though and basically pigged out. =X

I eat mostly raw which means minimal preparation. Faster and easier than the fastest fast food! Lately it's been oranges, kiwifruits, bananas, dates and a cooked soup in the evening which takes about 20 minutes to prepare for around 800kcal.

I like data. I count calories so I know I'm getting ENOUGH calories for my goals. Moderation means you're eating the wrong things, IMO.

Carbs carbs carbs FTW! XD

Ok i'll give you my awesome rundown of how i eat.

Breakfast: Nothing, makes me feel bad. Bad as in i wanna puke and die (not even kidding) (+ i have vacation atm, so i wake up at around 12-5 pm (12-17).)

Lunch: Depends on when i wake up, but haven't had lunch in 2 months, else i would eat a little sandwich.

Dinner: Whatever my parents make, mostly potatos, rice, pasta with somekind of meat.

After dinner: This is the time where i actually eat stuff, i would eat tons of rugbrød (rye bread) which is fucking awesome and healthy.

So yea i mostly eat at night and i eat alot at night.

This is way better than the shit I generally eat. If you want to gain weight you could probably just eat what you are eating now and also add protein shakes and weight gain shakes to your diet, that shouldn't be unhealthy.
